Raven has done an amazing job balancing weapons in Season 3. It finally feels like they are listening to the community and being proactive when changes are necessary. After all of the nerfs, buffs, and changes, the meta in Warzone is in the best place it has been for months.

In May of 2021, there are dozens of viable weapons for players to use, which is a vast improvement from Season 2's FFAR/AUG/M16 meta. The Kar98k remains the best sniper in the game, and for many, it is the top primary weapon to use. With the FFAR and AMAX out of the picture, gamers will need a versatile secondary to pair it with.

Updated by Payton Lott on September 7, 2021: It seems like every couple of weeks, Raven makes changes that impact the meta weapons in Warzone. The addition of the EM2 and rise of the C58 mean that players have a few more options in the sniper support meta. At this point in the game's life cycle, there are plenty of viable choices with a few that have risen in the ranks since this list was last updated. Unfortunately, many of the Modern Warfare weapons have received nerfs since Raven began to introduce them back into the meta last summer. Perhaps this is paving the way for the next batch of weapons that will be coming in November. Regardless, the below weapons are the best sniper support weapons in Warzone this season.

13 Grau

Grau Warzone

The Grau was included in this list because of how accurate it is at any range. Unlike the Kilo, M13, or Krig 6, the Grau has amazing iron sights that free up attachments for ADS speed or recoil control. With Rubberized Grip Tape, the Grau will feel like it was never nerfed in the first place.

Players will want to use the Grau at intermediate ranges, as the gun will not compete up close. Versatility and ease of use make the Grau a better option than other similar weapons in the game. It may be unimpressive on paper, but it is consistent for players of all skill levels.

12 RAM-7

The RAM-7 has endured a considerable fall from prominence. It was in the top three on this list, and now it is borderline viable. Severe damage nerfs make the RAM an okay choice in the sniper support role. It has the clunky movement of an LMG, and no longer competes with the SMGs up close.

Whether it deserved such a nerf is a different question. With so many other solid choices, players will no longer get the same enjoyment out of the RAM they once did. With enough headshots, the gun can still dominate, but it is not even near as powerful as it once was.

11 XM4

call of duty xm4

The XM4 has taken a back seat to many of the Warzone sniper support weapons after damage nerfs have hindered its effectiveness. The weapon was the best sniper support gun in Warzone just a couple of months ago. Now, it is neck and neck with its sister, the M4A1.

Players can still use the XM4 and have success with it, but reduced damage makes it much less powerful. The days of the XM4 meta are long gone, but the gun can still compete well in most scenarios. It is still viable as an SMG, sniper support, or long-range primary.

10 M4A1

M4A1 Warzone

Activision and Raven have not touched the M4 since they took over the game. The weapon was one of the first meta weapons in Season One of Warzone last year. As times to kill got lower and lower over the course of the year, the M4 took a back seat to a number of guns that have since been nerfed.

This Season, the M4 is a reliable option alongside a sniper. It may not have the range capabilities of the XM4 due to a faster fire rate, but it has much better iron sights. Gamers can use the Tac Laser or a grip tape instead of an optic.

9 Groza

Groza Cold War

This is the fourth iteration of the Groza in Warzone. It had a great TTK at one point, but was nerfed into the ground. After the recent buff, the Groza can perform well at close to medium range, but it is still difficult to use. Console players will have trouble with the recoil at extended ranges, which will drop the DPS considerably.

This weapon feels incredible when it hits, but missing a few shots will lose player's gunfights. It is crucial to hit only center chest and head/neck shots to compete with the best guns up close. As the ranges extend, the Groza becomes less and less effective.

8 FARA 83

Fara Warzone

The FARA has competitive damage values at all ranges and still has controllable recoil after the nerf in late June. While the iron sights are not the greatest, players can drop one of the wraps for a better sight.

The FARA is no longer the laser beam it was at the beginning of Season 4, but it can still be a decent medium-range Warzone sniper support gun. The weapon has great movement for an AR and will melt enemies at close to medium range. To maintain a fast TTK up close, gamers must mix in a headshot or two.

7 MP7

MP7 - 9 - COD Warzone Pro Weapons

The MP7 is one of the most enjoyable weapons to use in the game. It sounds amazing, and is the easiest gun to use. Despite not having the TTK of the MP5s, it can be used up close and at extended ranges. After the gun's initial drop-off, which is noticeable, it has consistent damage at any range. Players can use an optic for better medium to long-range accuracy, or opt for the Tac Laser for better ADS speed.

Unlike the multiplayer version of the MP7, the Warzone version has a sub-800-millisecond TTK up to about 80 meters. The MP7 has SMG movement, but viable damage at range. However, the MP7 will be outgunned between 15-40 meters. Coincidentally, that is where the LC10 dominates.

6 LC10

Because of its range, the LC10 takes a slight edge over the MP7. Both weapons have minimal recoil, a fast fire rate, and good iron sights. All three of those factors make them forgiving and viable as sniper supports.

What sets the LC10 apart is consistent damage well past the MP7's first damage drop-off. Anyone who has used the MP7 knows that it is incredible within 15 meters or so. Beyond that, it is accurate, but it will be a hit marker machine. The LC10 is a monster between 0 and 50 meters.

5 Milano

The poor Milano enjoyed a month in the spotlight before Raven nerfed the weapon, moving it back in the rankings. The Milano still has all of the benefits it once had, except for TTK at range. It has seemingly no recoil and a large clip, which make it a reliable choice even after being nerfed.

Ease of use and consistency make it one of the best Warzone sniper support weapons. Players will feel the difference in TTK, but it is not noticeable enough to knock the gun off of this list.

4 Krig 6

krig 6 cod warzone weapon inspect

Some people may consider the Krig 6 as a top sniper support gun. It has low recoil and performs decently well at all ranges. Up close, the assault rifle will lose a few gunfights to SMGs and more powerful short range weapons. At medium range, the only other gun that can compete is the C58.

Because the Krig is better suited for longer ranged gunfights, it is not the best sniper support gun. The weapon is easy to use and reliable, but there are more impressive options.

3 C58

call-of-duty-warzone-best-c58

It has been a couple of months since the C58 was introduced, and it continues to be one of the better weapons in the game. Like the below weapons, accuracy is very important with the C58. Miss a few shots and fail to hit upper chest, and the TTK of the gun drops noticeably.

Players that can hit all of their shots and mix in a few headshots will regard this weapon as the best gun in the game. The C58 is a lot of fun to use, but it will take the right player to maximize the potential of the gun.

2 EM2

cod warzone em2 black backdrop

The Season 5 addition fills a unique role in Warzone as a medium range assault rifle. It can be used as a sniper support because it has decent damage values at all ranges. In many ways the gun resembles the final weapon in this list. However, it does not have the same TTK and can be difficult to use without a sight. The EM2's slow fire rate will penalize missed shots too.

However, if all the bullets hit, enemies will go down very fast. Gamers should expect to struggle learning the recoil pattern with this weapon. Once they can get the hang of how it kicks, players will enjoy just how good the EM2 actually is.

1 AK-47 (CW)

dark aether ak-47 black ops cold war

The AMAX has been nerfed so many times it is hard to keep count. Each of these nerfs has helped the AK-47 become one of the most used sniper support ARs in Warzone. Excluding the AS VAL, Cold War AK-47 has the fastest time to kill among assault rifles. It pairs well with a sniper but requires more recoil control than the other weapons in this list.

A buff to the recoil last season made the gun easier to control, but anything beyond 20 meters or so will still be a challenge. Subpar iron sights make using the weapon even more challenging. Players can use the iron sights and struggle with target acquisition or move slower with an optic.Despite the skill gap, the AK is the best sniper support weapon in Warzone.
