Call Of Duty Warzone has gone through many changes over the last year; however, with the new title Call Of Duty: Vanguard that dropped last year, Warzone has seen its biggest change since. New locations which are in the pacific and modes are centered around the latest Call Of Duty release, Vanguard.

Right now is a good time for new players to jump into the action of Warzone. With the new season, everything basically resets, making it an equal playing field for old and new players alike. Warzone, in general, is one of the more accessible battle royale games for newcomers since it's not as complex as Fortnite or Apex Legends. Regardless of experience, though, both new and old players should arm themselves with these tips because it's still a challenge to win the round.

5 Know The Landing Spots

This is a basic rule for all battle royale games: the locations where players land at the start can determine the outcome of the match. In the older maps like Verdanks and Rebirth, landing in hot zones would mean two things: firstly, the potential for good gear; and secondly, other enemy players would also land in that area. Jumping into those zones at the start is high-risk, high-reward.

Warzone's newest map, Caldera, follows this trend. However, unlike the two previous maps, which have loot scattered more so in the middle parts and other specific locations, most of Caldera's good loot is on the shorelines. Thus, players tend to either drop really early or really late. If players successfully land in any of the shorelines, they can pick up strong load-outs, such as infamous one-shot weapons like DMR's.

4 Look For Loadouts

This is another universal principle, but it's more important in Warzone than it is in other battle royale games. Much like other maps, the weapons that players find here will typically do the job; however, once players get to a loadout drop, this becomes an issue because of even better gear. Caldera's loot isn't top of the line, but it can still be used to help players defend themselves. Finding a loadout increases a player's odds of winning and survival.

The new map just makes the load-out drops more important since players don't earn them at the start. They're more random, which makes the early game of Warzone more equal. Now players are looking for loot, which will mostly be the same for all players at the start. But once players are alerted to these drops, they should consider making their way to them.

3 Watch Out For Ordinances & Explosives

Having these equipped is just as important as weapons — and in certain situations, even more so. Even if the enemy is perfectly kitted, players can take all that away by lobbing a grenade at the enemy squad. Since grenades and explosives have splash damage and hurt more than most weapons, these items can become terrifying.

Players can wipe out a whole squad by tossing one or two of these grenades into the enemy's path, so it's useful to have as much as players can hold. On the other hand, players should understand that enemy players may have the same setup as well. However, players can alleviate that worry to a degree by having the E.O.D perk equipped. This perk reduces explosive damage substantially, so having it will help players get out of dodge a lot faster, and allow them to fight back more easily.

2 Try Vanguard Royal Mode

Fans have been calling for new modes since the early days of Warzone, and while each new season brings new things and new modes, not all of them are impactful as the base game. But, with a new season and map comes a bunch of new things that all relate to Caldera and Vanguard. All of this helps bring new energy to Warzone.

Vanguard Royal is a separate mode from the base Warzone. While it plays similarly, the main difference is that this mode uses gear only from Call Of Duty Vanguard, which can be challenging as these are World War II-era weapons and gear. There are also some changes to match the style of Vanguard, the main one is that the rings close a lot slower making it easier for players to get gear and to kit up. It's a good alternative for players who want a change of pace.

1 Take Advantage Of Height

The older maps were flatter, meaning that players would have to go into buildings to find cover. In interior firefights, everything was basically on the same level; they were both industrial, unlike other battle royale maps. Caldera changes that up and makes playing Warzone more dynamic. Unlike the older maps, Caldera has peaks and valleys, so gunfights are going to play out differently.

Because players can get height on the enemy, it's now easier to scout nearby enemy players. This new element means that the best snipers will be no-scoping enemies in no time. Plus, having an unpredictable terrain can make things quite difficult, meaning surprise attacks could become a common thing that makes Warzone more fun and entertaining.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game is scheduled to be released in 2022 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
