Call of Duty: Warzone released its anticipated Pacific update on December 8. Alongside a new map in the island of Caldera, and new guns being brought in from Call of Duty: Vanguard, bugs have also found their way into Call of Duty: Warzone's matchmaking, causing frustration among many players as the developers took a vacation, leaving the game in its current state for some time to come.

From glitches that causes players to spawn in the same place, to the "demon" glitch that made one player unkillable, bugs have been rife in Call of Duty: Warzone since the release of the Pacific update. One player has noticed a new bug though, that is breaking the game by changing the audio a player hears while playing.

Posted to Reddit by user u/Putridzzz, players are experiencing the bug, which reportedly causes a player's audio to become "muffled and suppressed," after getting a kill within Call of Duty: Warzone, effectively giving players a disadvantage for doing what they are supposed to within the game. This glitch also appears to be most disadvantageous to those using headsets. Audio in any shooter is incredibly important, as often a player will hear their opponent before seeing them, either through footsteps or distant gunshots. Removing or damaging the audio experience then, is especially annoying for Call of Duty: Warzone players.

Bugs and glitches seem to be a problem throughout many modern shooters. Battlefield 2042 specifically has had problems since its launch, including a similarly damaging bug that allowed some players to become completely invisible to enemies. In regards to the audio bug in Call of Duty: Warzone though, this is a fairly recent problem, though it is one that might take a while to be officially fixed by the developers.

However, Call of Duty: Warzone players have found an in-game fix that can prevent the bug from being too game breaking. According to one commenter, in order to return the game audio to normal, all a player is required to do is stun or flashbang themselves using one of the two grenades. Players are experiencing the bug across platforms, and it seems that all who do experience it are finding the bug equally annoying. This is not the first time fans have sought to fix or change something within Call of Duty: Warzone, as last week fans suggested a way to change weapon blueprints within the game, and other fans are always looking for the most overpowered or underpowered guns and requesting them to be nerfed and buffed respectively.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
