Another Call of Duty: Warzone weapon is making headlines after streamer NICKMERCS introduced a new build into the mix. While Call of Duty: Warzone's meta has been in flux since the last wave of nerfs, the community has been searching for replacement weapons. This has opened up the door for plenty of alternate builds and loadouts.

The focus of NICKMERCS this time is the underrated Assault Rifle AS VAL. This weapon has mixed receptions in the Call of Duty: Warzone community, but it is widely known to be the fastest killing weapon in Warzone. This is one of the few cases when an Assault Rifle can outgun an SMG in close-quarters combat.

The AS VAL is a chambered subsonic 9x39mm Assault Rifle. This weapon is designed for stealth, accuracy, and penetration, but comes with high recoil and a rapid-fire rate. This is a weapon that easily blows through its clip and destroys any enemy standing in its way. As a Call of Duty: Warzone weapon, the AS VAL is usually left for small encounters as its low ammo capacity can easily be competed with if the user is inaccurate with their shots.

NICKMERCS AS VAL Loadout

  • Barrel - Stovl SOF
  • Stock - Stovl 6P30 Skelet
  • Underbarrel - Merc Foregrip
  • Ammunition - 30 Round Magazine
  • Rear Grip - Stippled Grip Tape

NICKMERCS breaks a usual trend in his Call of Duty: Warzone loadout, but this is due to the built-in suppressor of the AS VAL. The weapon is already silent, so players need only extend the barrel using the Stovl SOF attachment. This increases the weapon's mobility, and when paired with the Stovl 6P30 Skelet Stock, players can easily increase that number further.

The underbarrel Warzone attachment adds a Merc Foregrip, which increases ADS time, and the 30 Round Magazine gives the user some room for error in their accuracy. Finally, the Stippled Grip Tape Rear Grip further increases mobility and ADS, making this a perfect weapon for close-quarter situations.

NICKMERCS stresses this build is designed for Solo and Duos. If the weapon is brought into larger games, the ammo capacity will likely cause players to struggle in keeping up with lengthy conflicts. This weapon will stand its own in close-combat situations, but longer ranges can be difficult due to the increased recoil. Call of Duty: Warzone fans can easily beam down one or two opponents, but remember to finish off kills as Self-Revives are popular in the Season 1 meta.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
