Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is set to release alongside Modern Warfare 2, being a sequel to the highly successful original Warzone battle royale title that was released in 2020. Aiming to be bigger and better than its predecessor, there is a huge array of changes that are set to come with Warzone 2.

Sporting a brand-new map in Al Mazrah and re-inventing core Warzone features such as map circles and the gulag respawn system, it is clear that Warzone 2 is respectful of its past successful formula while being bold enough to create its own identity. During these missions, it will be entirely up to the player's discretion when they choose to "exfiltrate" from specific areas in the map to end the mission and keep any loot and rewards they may have collected. Considering how this allows players to tackle certain scenarios in tailored ways, there is a huge level of freedom that is set to come with DMZ that will keep players coming back to the new mode again and again. Given how the pace of gameplay in Warzone and its successor will be inherently dictated by the shrinking map like any other battle royale, the freedom of DMZ's gameplay may be a fantastic addition to the upcoming title.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0's open beta is playable now on PlayStation until September 26. PC and Xbox players that pre-ordered can join on September 23. The game officially launches on November 16 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
