The update is mainly focused on Warzone and has officially removed the Battle Royale 200 game mode from all platforms. Players will be happy to see the return of standard Battle Royale Quads added back to the submenu along with the Battle Royale Stimulus Trios mode returning back into the options. Although the update is removing the massive battle royale experience, it is easy to see that the game mode received mixed reviews from fans. Many consider the experiment to be a success while others say that 200 players were simply too much to deal with.

The return of Battle Royale Quads is a chance for players to bring their Battle Royale 200 skills back to a smaller match. Although the player count is lower, the team-based tactics and need for coordination continue to be vital to success. Fewer opponents can easily make matches end quicker, but it also heightens the chance of players being out skilled in unexpected scenarios.

Battle Royale Stimulus fans will be happy to see the launch of Trios. This mode helps shake up the tactical composition of each squad, and now the players will have a chance to dominate with their friends. The mode was considered a good practice zone for helping supplement battle royale skills. Many players used it as a chance to test their kits and prepare for the full battle royale challenge.

Although the shakeup in-game modes will be enjoyed by fans, many think that it is a short term fix to many long term problems. Warzone is plagued with strategic issues from snipers dominating the field to games being decided by who got the convenient building first. Solo modes continue to either end to quickly or drag on longer than intended leaving many fans seeking a balance between the two.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
