An unusual bug uncovered by a Call of Duty: Warzone 2 fan allows players to drive a truck underwater without drowning. The presence of numerous glitches in the popular title has left many players hoping that a slew of bug fixes will be included with the release of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 2 later this year.

The sequel to 2020’s Call of Duty: Warzone, the new Call of Duty: Warzone 2 marks Infinity Ward’s latest effort to carve out a space for itself in the crowded Battle Royale market. Although the free-to-play title has been praised by many gamers for its new additions, including the Escape from Tarkov-inspired DMZ mode and Warzone 2’s proximity chat feature, multiple bugs and some unpopular gameplay decisions have left some players exasperated. Infinity Ward and Raven Software have worked to address many of the most egregious problems with the game since launch, releasing multiple patches and updates, but ongoing technical and balance issues continue to frustrate many Warzone 2 players.

In a video shared on the r/CODWarzone subreddit, user The-Weasel shows off a glitch in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 that allows players to drive one of the game’s trucks underwater at a certain spot on the map. The short video shows The-Weasel driving casually along the coastline in the online shooter before aiming their truck towards the water and driving off into the drink. Rather than taking damage as expected, they are able to continue driving the truck underwater, jostling over the sea floor as they explore Al Mazrah’s murky depths.

Responses to the unusual glitch video ranged from amusement at the aquatic adventure to annoyance at the presence of yet another bug in the popular shooter. Summing up the feelings of many players exasperated at the ongoing technical issues in Warzone 2, one comment joked that the first several months of any Call of Duty release consists of “players beta testing for the devs.” Other commenters remarked that this same exploit could be used on other areas of the map, such as the canal running through the Al Mazrah map. Several responses pointed out that the video also shows Warzone 2’s proximity chat glitch in action, with multiple overlapping player names visible on the left side of the screen.

Despite having some of the most solid gunplay in the genre and a passionate player base, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 continues to be beset by frustrating technical issues nearly two months on from launch. While this unusual bug may not be game-breaking like other Warzone 2 glitches, for some players it will serve as further proof that the game was rushed to release.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
