Activision has sent out a survey to Call of Duty fans gauging their interest in the return of legacy maps for Call of Duty: Warzone 2. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 launched late last year with the brand-new Al Mazrah map. While Warzone 2 has certainly not been without its issues, the consensus seems to be that Al Mazrah is a significant step up from Caldera, but it falls short of Verdansk's greatness.Soon, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players will have a new map to battle it out on. Specific details are coming at some point next week, but it's already been announced that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is getting a small map come Season 2's launch on February 15. The new small-scale map for Warzone 2 is expected to be similar in size to Rebirth Island, but again, official details on that front are unavailable at the time of this writing.RELATED: Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Making Huge Change to 3-Plate Armor Vests and BackpacksIt seems there's a possibility that the new small map in Warzone 2 is just the start of new maps coming to the battle royale. A new Activision survey has asked Call of Duty fans to rank their top 3 choices for a new Warzone map, with legacy maps mentioned as possibilities. Those surveyed could choose from a brand-new map, the Verdansk '84 map, the Caldera map, the original Verdansk map, or the Blackout map from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Based on these choices, it seems safe to say that many Call of Duty fans would be most interested in the original Verdansk map or the Blackout map making a comeback in Call of Duty: Warzone 2. Those two maps seem to be the most popular battle royale maps in Call of Duty, with Verdansk '84 simply being a variant of the original map and the Caldera map proving to be generally unpopular with the Call of Duty community. Some may prefer to see a completely new map, but then there's the risk that the map won't live up to expectations.

Now, this is not confirmation that any of these maps are actually coming to Call of Duty: Warzone 2. It's entirely possible that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 won't add any new maps at all, and it will instead be satisfied with tweaking Al Mazrah. However, this does show that Activision is at least considering the possibility of bringing some of its older maps to Call of Duty: Warzone 2, which may be enough to excite fans.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is out now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
