A Call of Duty: Warzone 2 player has clipped a strange moment in the Gulag in which they briefly respawn back in the Al Mazrah map. Each big Warzone launch has offered its own twist on the Gulag, with the original being in a prison bathroom and the latest one being in a courtyard, but it seems like players can accidentally trigger a respawn in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.

A Reddit user has shared a video of their peculiar glitch when respawning before concluding a Gulag match that has since gone viral through various Call of Duty: Warzone 2 channels. Given that Activision continues to improve upon Call of Duty: Warzone 2 while issuing various fixes to each game mode, the aforementioned respawn may become a thing of the past in a future update.

Reddit user Dowy has created a video of their Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Gulag battle which started off normally but was cut short by an early respawn that interrupted the gameplay. Dowy's clip begins by showing a birds-eye view of the Gulag map before showing the two allied combatants and counting down from five to relinquish control to the soldiers on the small battlefield. The bell rings to initiate combat, and the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 player sprints to the left side of the map and climbs a half-wall to throw their frag grenade and get better sights on their enemy, retreating behind some pallets after being shot a couple of times.

Walking back and forth multiple times towards a concrete column next to the pallets in the Gulag, the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 player starts to experience frame issues seemingly due to lag before their character is suddenly transported to the Al Mazrah map as they fall from the sky. Before being able to pull their parachute and land safely in the much larger battle royale map, the soldier is quickly returned to the Gulag just to be killed as the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Jailer NPC spawns into the courtyard. Because Dowy was the only remaining soldier on his Gulag team upon this defeat, the enemy was able to take advantage of the glitchy moment to earn a proper respawn.

Although Dowy attributes the Gulag loss to the lag that they experienced just prior to their untimely Call of Duty: Warzone 2 respawn, the glitch may have been due to multiple factors. Given that the video was limited to Dowy's perspective, one of the winners of Warzone 2's 2v2 Gulag may have gone on to win after unwittingly getting lucky from their opponent's misfortune.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
