A new clip from Call of Duty: Warzone 2 shows a player encountering a frustrating bug with the buy stations in Infinity Ward and Raven Software’s Battle Royale shooter that causes them to lose two powerful UAVs. Despite the inclusion of numerous bug fixes in the recently released Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded update players continue to encounter multiple serious bugs in the popular game.
Even before the game was officially launched Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was subjected to serious pushback by many fans of the original title. From the elimination of the first game’s Verdansk map to the change, later reversed, to a 2v2 format for Gulag fights, many choices Activision made for the sequel was met with criticism. While the popularity of the game’s new DMZ mode has helped soften some players’ opinions of the free-to-play shooter, the title continues to suffer from major technical issues such as one player’s recent discovery that Warzone 2 is incorrectly tracking player stats.
A new clip posted to the r/CODWarzone subreddit illustrates just how infuriating some of the bugs in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 can be for players. The short clip shared by Redditor Glaive001 shows their character using a buy station to purchase UAVs in Warzone 2 while their backpack is full. Although the buy station lets them purchase two UAVs, they both immediately disappear rather than dropping or displacing other items in the backpack. The clip ends as Glaive001, their wallet significantly lighter, looks around frantically for the two now-vanished UAVs.
Several Redditors responding to the clip shared stories of encountering the same bug during their time with Call of Duty: Warzone 2, with one commenter stating that they purchased two UAVs before wastefully launching one “because I spent the whole time looking on the ground, wondering where the other was.” Expressing cynicism with the sometimes slow pace at which bugs are addressed in the popular shooter, another comment mournfully mused that it probably wouldn’t be patched until Season 3. Other commenters cited the bug as an example of the introduction of backpacks being a bad idea in the first place, preferring the loadout system from the original Warzone.
While Activision has been making moves to win back players lately, including bringing back Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s solo queue for Resurgence after abruptly removing the feature only four days after it debuted, it’s clear that the publisher still has a lot of work to do. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 can be an incredibly fun game when everything works the way it should, but as long as bugs keep stealing the spotlight the shooter will continue to struggle to satisfy some players.
