The first Call of Duty: Warzone brought a lot to the table, and one of its most unique inclusions was its Resurgence game mode, which saw a reduced lobby duke it out on a slightly smaller map. While Warzone's Resurgence mode would be reiterated a few times during the game's life, it never really got better than the very first map, Rebirth Island, which fans still talk avidly about today. Well, at long last Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is finally set to receive its own Resurgence mode, and fans are yet to see if its new Ashika Island map can live up to the legacy of Rebirth.

After months of rumors, and a handful of delays, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is finally receiving its second Season on February 15, bringing with it some new weapons, a new Battle Pass, and the new Resurgence mode. From what fans have seen so far, it seems as though this take on Resurgence will resemble the original Warzone's very closely, with a smaller lobby all dropping into a smaller map. This new map is named Ashika Island, and according to Infinity Ward's official blog post, players are about to drop into an abandoned resort island, with plenty of new and old locations to find along the way.

Point of Interest - Ōganikku Farms

Oganikku Farms-1

Located in the northwest of Ashika Island, Oganikku Farms has a blend of old WW2-era shoreline defenses, a series of greenhouses, and a handful of agricultural farms. One of the standout landmarks of this area is its tall comms tower, which is just one of three dotted around the island. Players should be able to find plenty of desecrated buildings along the coastline, crumbling apart from all angles. The main location for firefights in this area will likely be the set of greenhouses next to the comms tower, with plenty of cover for players to hide around.

Point of Interest - Town Center

Ashika Town Center

On the west side of the island, underneath Oganikku Farms, lies the Town Center. This is one of the more dense areas on Ashika Island, with a large port area and tons of buildings inland. For those wanting to hide in the water, there's an L-shaped sea wall a few hundred meters out. But for those who are wanting more interior cover, then the best bets are the tourist center, science center, market district, hotel, town hall, and gas station, all of which are located just a few yards from one another. Most of these buildings have multiple levels for players to explore, including a reachable rooftop. There are also two long bridges passing over the water, where brazen players might be spotted and picked off.

Point of Interest - Beach Club

Ashika Beach Club

In the southwest corner of the map is Ashika Island's Beach Club, another densely populated area for structures. The most tourist-friendly area of the island, this Beach Club includes a large, abandoned aquarium, a bathhouse that extends onto the beach itself, and a circular observation point in the middle of the water, where Infinity Ward has teased something might be lurking beneath its spiral staircase. Another demolition site can also be seen in this area, which seems to be a staple of Ashika Island.

Point of Interest - Tsuki Castle

Ashika Castle

By far the most immediately eye-catching point of interest on Ashika Island, Tsuki Castle is a remake of Call of Duty: World at War's iconic Castle map, albeit with some pretty significant changes and additions. Located right in the center of the map, Tsuki Castle is a gigantic ancient castle, packed to the brim with battlements and other fortifications. The castle itself is surrounded by large cliffs and blooming cherry blossom trees, giving ambushing players plenty of cover. As well as a bridge across a moat, this castle is hiding an underground network of tunnels below its surface that leads to a secret submarine base. Directly in front of the castle, players can find a plethora of side buildings, from barracks to a converted museum and even a whole garden.

Point of Interest - Port Ashika

Port Ashika

In the southeastern section of the map, and just below the castle, is Port Ashika. This port will look pretty familiar to fans of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, with all the usual dockside buildings and warehouses being present here as well. Three bridges cross over a canal here, connecting two different sides of the port. Each bridge has its own unique architecture and design, and each offers a different level of verticality. Players can also find an oil facility here, with large containers and connecting pipes. The back and sides of Port Ashika are enclosed by some fairly large cliffs.

Point of Interest - Shipwreck

Ashika Shipwreck

Moving on to the east side of the island, the Shipwreck point of interest will be all-too-familiar to long-time fans of Call of Duty's multiplayer. A very large container ship has seemingly crashed onto the island's eastern beach, causing its deck to overturn and spill out its contents. Large container boxes are now strewn across the beach, with four large stacks creating a pattern that's essentially a recreation of the infamous Shipment map. Up on the cliffside behind the beach, players can find yet another demolition site, though the building here still retains most of its structure.

Point of Interest - Residential

Ashika residential

The final point of interest in this new map can be found right at the top, in the northernmost section of Ashika Island. Named Residential, this point of interest contains a large, multi-floored hotel, a large power plant, a water treatment facility, and a small residential district, all of which are connected via tarmac roads. Players should be extra careful in this area as it's one of Ashika Island's most vertical, with houses, cliffs, and other forms of cover appearing at different heights throughout the point of interest.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
