Last weekend, PlayStation gamers that pre-ordered Call of Duty: Vanguard were able to check the game out through its beta, and by and large, the beta test went off without a hitch. Now PC and Xbox players are able to jump into the mix and see what all the fuss is about when it comes to Call of Duty: Vanguard, but unfortunately, this week's beta test hasn't gone quite as smoothly as last weekend's.

Call of Duty: Vanguard on Xbox in particular has been having issues, with players encountering bizarre graphical defects while playing the game. Developer Sledgehammer Games has been quick to address these concerns, having figured out exactly what's causing it. Apparently, playing the Call of Duty: Vanguard beta on Xbox with 120Hz enabled is causing the graphical defects, so if players drop things down to 60Hz, they shouldn't have these issues.

Part of the point of a beta test like this is to discover potential problems that need fixing between now and launch. One has to imagine that Sledgehammer Games will work to address this problem with the Xbox version of Call of Duty: Vanguard so that it's not an issue once the release date rolls around. Call of Duty: Vanguard's release date is November 5, so the developers have a little over a month to rectify the issue. Alternatively, if it's something that can't be fixed in time, it may need addressed in a post-launch patch.

Sledgehammer Games has already made notable changes to Call of Duty: Vanguard based on fan feedback from the beta. Call of Duty: Vanguard beta Week 2 is a noticeable improvement over Week 1 by many accounts, as Sledgehammer Games has quickly addressed concerns that fans expressed after their first weekend with the game. This second test is available for more than just PlayStation, though, so it should provide the developers with a lot more data about what needs to be focused on in the final stretch leading up to the game's launch.

Right now the focus is on Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer as Sledgehammer Games works out its lingering problems and tries to get it ready for launch day. And with plenty already revealed about the Call of Duty: Vanguard campaign, one has to imagine that the Zombies mode will be in the spotlight next.

Very little is known about Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies beyond the fact that it's being developed by Treyarch, but hopefully more details come sooner rather than later. In the meantime, Call of Duty: Vanguard fans are free to check out the beta this weekend.

Call of Duty: Vanguard launches November 5 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
