Weapon bloom is a mechanic that refers to the trajectory of a weapon's accuracy, which means that where players point their crosshair and shoot is not necessarily where the bullet will land. Many Call of Duty: Vanguard players were shocked to find the mechanic was so prevalent in the release version of the game as it was allegedly nowhere to be found during the beta. This is, unfortunately, however, not the only part of Call of Duty: Vanguard that players have had a problem with so far.

Most Call of Duty players generally expect their bullet to go exactly where they aim their crosshair as this has been the case for the majority of the iterations in the series. Another issue that will annoy long-time Call of Duty fans is the fact that the combat shield no longer blocks bullets when unequipped and placed on a player's back. In previous Call of Duty titles, a riot shield (as it was previously called) was able to block bullets both when equipped and unequipped, however, this is no longer the case in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

One Reddit user commented on a post complaining about weapon bloom stating "The mix of bloom, netcode, and low ttk make for some terrible feeling gunfights in an otherwise amazing feeling MP.” This seems to be the general consensus of a lot of Call of Duty: Vanguard players as the game seems to contain many small issues that hamper an otherwise pleasant experience overall. Another example of this is the classic Call of Duty Search and Destroy mode that is being hampered by an easy to patch bug. The bug basically let's players of the opposing team know when a bomb is being defused which alerts them to quickly go and eliminate the defuser when in the past players could defuse without any prompts alerting the opposing team.

Call of Duty: Vanguard players have also been unable to achieve the diamond camo for Assault Rifles due to a bugged attachment that is needed to complete the challenge to achieve it.

Activision and Sledgehammer Games don't seem to be far away from having an exceptionally good multiplayer experience on their hands. Call of Duty: Vanguard will probably benefit from the upcoming Ricochet Anti-Cheat to deal with the excessive amount of cheaters in the game and a few patches to iron out the small issues that are stopping players from having an otherwise enjoyable experience.

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone are available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
