Call of Duty: Vanguard fans may be positive on the game’s multiplayer overall, but that does not mean they are pleased with every aspect of the game. Weapon bloom has been a hot button issue for the Call of Duty: Vanguard community thus far, but a new batch of changes should please those that are frustrated about its inclusion.

For those unfamiliar with Call of Duty: Vanguard’s weapon bloom, the system essentially adds an element of randomness to the game’s weaponry. This means that bullets are not guaranteed to go exactly where players aim, with some shots going further in one direction than expected. While the feature has been seen in games like Fortnite and Overwatch, Call of Duty fans were not happy to see the randomized spread included in the World War 2 shooter, and many negative comments have made about it.

Fortunately, a recent Call of Duty: Vanguard update has made some key adjustments to weapon bloom. YouTuber XclusiveAce has shown just how much bloom has been nerfed in a new video, showing that players should now have a lot less trouble hitting their targets. Rather than limiting bloom on one or two weapons, Sledgehammer has tuned the statistics on every single weapon. Whether they prefer SMGs or Assault Rifles, players should be able to see the change immediately.

A comparison shared by the YouTuber makes it clear how much more accurate weapons are now, with every SMG having tighter recoil. The solid M1928 and below average Sten benefit the most from the change, with bloom previously making the guns extremely poor from a distance. Now, they should be a lot more viable. The only downside of the MP-40 prior to this change was its Bloom, as it was another heavily impacted weapon. With this adjustment, though, it should be even more deadly.

On the Assault Rifle side, the Volk and AS44 have been helped out quite a bit by the bloom rework. While the Volk was decent enough with the high bloom, it should be much better now. More importantly, the AS44 should actually be usable, as the weapon was borderline useless prior to the change. While it was once the clearest example of bloom going too far, it is now in line with the rest of the weapons. As mentioned by XclusiveAce in his Call of Duty: Vanguard video, the reduction is around 60%, which is a huge step in the right direction.

While some Call of Duty: Vanguard players want to see the weapon bloom removed entirely, that seems unlikely. For now, most should be happy with this rework, and it is a good sign that Sledgehammer was able to make such a significant adjustment so quickly.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
