Call of Duty: Vanguard, apart from a few weapons and items, was a fairly balanced game at launch. However, one new tool at the disposal of Call of Duty: Vanguard players is the Incendiary Grenade, and fans are already hoping to see it nerfed.

One of the most consistent complaints about Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer has been poor visibility. Since the beta, players have claimed that it was too hard to see their enemies due to fire effects and explosions, and while Sledgehammer made adjustments, other issues have appeared. The fact that both teams share Operators has been another point of controversy, as players have had a hard time telling friend from foe. Beyond this, killstreaks like the Mortar Barrage cover the map in smoke and dirt, making it even harder to see. Now, the Incendiary Grenade is contributing to the issue.

Not only is the lethal equipment able to deal damage, burning any enemies that stand too close to it, but it is making it hard for Call of Duty: Vanguard players to see as well. While Thermite and Molotovs would burn their foes, the issue with the new Incendiary Grenades is that they also function as Smoke Grenades. As such, players are getting a lethal and tactical grenade in the same package, with the combination ruining the experience of gamers like SubZeroZeusYT.

The Reddit user made a post suggesting that some kind of counter should be added for the Battle Pass grenade, with a possible solution being the addition of a new thermal scope that would let players bypass the Thermite smoke. While the Night Vision sights that are currently in the game allow players to see through regular smoke, they are useless when it comes to Incendiaries. With most players reaching tier 39 in the Battle Pass by now as well, the game is being flooded with Incendiary Grenades.

While the Redditor’s other suggestion of completely removing the Incendiary Grenades is unlikely to happen, seeing as they were just added, some kind of rework would clearly be welcome. Currently, the grenades simply do too much, as their ability to cover areas in smoke while they simultaneously deal damage is making it hard to see in a game that already has visibility problems. As pointed out in the player’s post, dark Call of Duty: Vanguard maps like Berlin are now tougher to play, while small maps like Shipment are also less enjoyable.

With the post from SubZeroZeusYT even mentioning how the new grenade type is making it harder to grind for Call of Duty: Vanguard’s camos, it seems like there are several downsides to the item. No matter what the solution is, hopefully Sledgehammer Games adjusts the equipment piece in a future update.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
