Call of Duty: Vanguard is now available, and for those looking to pick the game up, there will be a few options to choose from. Fortunately, choosing a specific version of Call of Duty: Vanguard should not be very difficult.

Call of Duty: Vanguard fans will be spending $60, $70, or $100 for these various copies of the game, so it is important to make a wise decision. For those unsure of which edition to pick up, the following breakdown of what is inside each should make the decision process a lot easier.

The Standard And Cross-Gen Editions Of Call of Duty: Vanguard

The standard edition is available for the traditional price of $60. Like its name suggests, this is the normal version of the game, with Call of Duty players getting access to the newest entry in the series and nothing else. It is the only edition that can be purchased by those who want a physical copy, though, so this is something to keep in mind. Physical versions of the standard edition exist for current and last gen consoles.

As for the cross-gen edition, it will cost players $70, though the $10 difference means that players will get the game on both PS4 and PS5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X. 5 hours of Double Weapon XP and the Frontline Weapons Pack will also be included, which is a nice bonus. For those that are still waiting to get a new PlayStation or Xbox, and could possibly be picking one up around the Holiday season, this would be the version to purchase. For gamers that will not be playing on both platforms, though, the standard edition is the better option.

The Ultimate Edition of Call of Duty: Vanguard (Digital Only)

The value of the ultimate edition comes down to how much gamers care about their Call of Duty cosmetics. Three bundles are included, with each offering a unique weapon blueprint and Operator outfit. Polina gets a snowy outfit and matching white Marksmen Rifle, Lucas gets a face mask and custom Assault Rifle, and Wade gets a special SMG alongside a jacket and beanie hat. Players will get the Frontline Weapons Pack and the Double Weapon XP from the cross-gen bundle, with five hours of normal Double XP also included.

The biggest part of the ultimate edition to consider is the Battle Pass Bundle, which will see players getting access to the Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 Battle Pass without spending COD Points. They will also get 20 tier skips, getting a head start on the content. For players who plan on getting the tier skip bundle of the battle pass once it goes live, or want some unique looks for their Operators as soon as they start playing, the ultimate edition may be worth picking up. For those who care more about gameplay than cosmetics, though, $100 might be a bit too steep.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
