Call of Duty: Vanguard has finally had its long-awaited multiplayer reveal, with Activision confirming a ton of new details about the upcoming first-person shooter. The Call of Duty: Vanguard beta will kick off in just a few days for PlayStation gamers that have pre-ordered the game, but the full scope of what Vanguard has to offer won't be apparent until the game's release date rolls around on November 5.

One of the major new features coming to Call of Duty: Vanguard is the Clan system. Call of Duty: Vanguard Clans will have special progression, emblems, and Battle Pass rewards that are unlocked for everyone in the group as opposed to individual players. This means that anyone that wants to unlock the most amount of content possible in Call of Duty: Vanguard will definitely want to make sure that they are hooked up with a Clan.

The Create-a-Class and Gunsmith features in Call of Duty: Vanguard have also been detailed as part of the Vanguard multiplayer reveal. Gunsmith was first introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and proved to be one of the game's most popular features as it gave players unprecedented gun customization. Call of Duty: Vanguard is bringing Gunsmith back, now allowing players to utilize 10 different attachment slots on weapons in the game.

Activision also touched on how Call of Duty: Vanguard maps will change during gameplay. While fans shouldn't expect Battlefield-levels of destructibility, Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer maps will include "reactive" gameplay environments, which will allow players to break down doors and destroy certain objects in the environment. Call of Duty: Vanguard bringing back doors like the ones seen in Modern Warfare has been a point of controversy in the community, but perhaps knowing that the doors can be knocked down will make worried fans feel better.

And finally, Activision also detailed how Call of Duty: Vanguard is shaking up the traditional Call of Duty cover system. Call of Duty: Vanguard will once again feature weapon mounting, though this time players will be able to mount weapons on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. There is also a blindfire option that will allow players to fire around corners without peaking their head and potentially exposing themselves to danger.

This is all well and good, but fans will have a better idea of how it works in practice when they get their hands on the Call of Duty: Vanguard beta these coming weekends. Call of Duty: Vanguard's Champion Hill mode, Patrol, Team Deathmatch, and a variety of maps will all be available for fans to check out while the beta is live.

Call of Duty: Vanguard launches November 5 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
