Based on a recent bug spotted in Call of Duty: Vanguard, it seems like living corpses are not limited to Zombies mode. One Call of Duty: Vanguard player has encountered a moving body in a multiplayer match, and their discovery is interesting to say the least.

This is not the only corpse-related glitch to appear in Call of Duty: Vanguard, as the game’s Attack Dogs were recently seen bugging out upon death. Once killed, the canine corpses would fly into the air, twisting and contorting as they were lifted into the sky. Eventually, they would resemble birds instead of dogs once they were up near the clouds. While the bug was entertaining, it was crashing some players’ games, so it was for the best that it was removed. Now, though, human character models are behaving strangely.

Reddit user KingKrullHTX was playing on the map Sub Pens when they encountered the bug. While on a capture point, the player notices that the point was being contested, and they spot a red name near the stairs. While they likely assumed this was just a prone player at first, they quickly realize that something is off, as the enemy begins to move far faster than the usual prone opponent. Zooming across the staircase and into the next room, the Redditor discovers that their foe is a corpse.

With the Call of Duty: Vanguard player KingKrullHTX is facing clearly still in control of this corpse, it is unclear if they are seeing a completely normal first-person perspective on their screen. They look hilarious when pressed against the floor, though this glitch is also a bit problematic. As shown by the attempts to kill the enemy, the moving bodies seem to be entirely invincible, giving them an unfair advantage that lets them dodge every bullet that comes their way.

Another clip, this time from thisISben90, shows the bug happening once again - only this time to several players at once. The enemies can be seen moving across the floor, and intriguingly, this iteration of the bug happened on Sub Pens. Sub Pens has been plagued by bugs in the past, so perhaps this is another map-specific issue. Regardless, when players do stumble upon it, their best bet would be to ignore the moving corpses. While it is frustrating that players are invulnerable when in this state, it seems like they deal no damage themselves, either.

With Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 delayed so that the game’s many bugs and issues can be worked on, perhaps this glitch will be something that Sledgehammer Games addresses. While seeing corpses move is a bit unsettling, the way in which they scoot around is hard not to laugh at.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
