Call of Duty: Vanguard has had its fair share of bugs, with players able to float into the sky or hide in ceilings. Now, Call of Duty: Vanguard players have found some overpowered hiding spots, with many quick to make use of them.

Normally, hiding spots would not be a big deal. After all, in game modes where players can respawn, they will be able to watch the killcam and see exactly where their opponent was when they pulled off the sneaky kill. They can then avoid the areas with ease or track down the player that had taken them out. However, this is much more troublesome in one-life matches like Search and Destroy, as a fully hidden player can wipe out unsuspecting foes and leave them without the ability to respawn.

These issues extend to competitive matches, with Call of Duty: Vanguard player @DuhVera_ having lost important games due to these issues. Alongside a message that players using spots like this will be instantly disqualified from eSports games, the fan showcases two specific locations that cheaters have been using to get an unfair advantage. While it may be fun to use the spots when playing something like hide and seek with a friend, they are more than a bit frustrating to see used inside an online match.

The first spot is tied to the Call of Duty: Vanguard map Demyansk. If players head onto the icy water, they will come across a broken segment of the bridge. This part of the map is designed to be climbed up, but when going prone in front of the bridge debris, players will be completely obscured by a pile of snow on the ground. Opponents will never think to look here unless they know the spot, making it incredibly powerful.

The second spot is on the map Tuscan, and it sees players hiding right next to the truck in the center of the map. To the left of this truck, a stack of crates can be seen, with a torn cover on top of them. If players go prone in front of these crates, they will clip through the tarp and crawl into the crates themselves. Once again, they are completely obscured, and they can wait for someone to come near the spot before exiting and killing them from behind. Based on the view when inside the crates, it is clear that this is an issue with Call of Duty: Vanguard and is not meant to be a reachable area.

Hopefully, Sledgehammer Games can block these spots off sooner rather than later. With Call of Duty: Vanguard’s League Play in the works, hiding spots like this could completely ruin the ranked matches.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
