Some Call of Duty: Vanguard fans that have been trying to enjoy the beta are not having a good time. While many likely enjoy the gameplay, hacking is ruining the Call of Duty: Vanguard experience for some unlucky gamers.
Recently, it became clear that Call of Duty: Vanguard’s cheating was just as severe as what is seen in games like Call of Duty: Warzone. A clip made the rounds that showed a hacker firing off into the distance, and despite their enemies being anywhere near the fired shots, the cheater was still getting hit markers and kills. As such, the game was completely unplayable for those that were matched up with the cheater.
It seems like cheaters have another trick they can make use of inside of the Call of Duty: Vanguard beta, too. A clip posted to Twitter by @EasyStomps shows a cheater saying how bad everyone else in the lobby is before being called out for wallhacks. However, it is clear that the hacker was not happy to be outed for having an unfair advantage. While they could see enemies through walls during the match, they also have the ridiculous ability to end matches early. Sadly for @EasyStomps and everyone else in the game, this is exactly what happened.
A second clip provided by the Call of Duty: Vanguard fan adds some context to the argument. Apparently, the hacker was angry that they had been killed by @EasyStomps in the round prior, showing that their wall hacks were not enough to make them a good player. This is likely the main reason that they ended the match early, believing that if they cannot have fun nobody should be able to. On top of this, it is likely that the hacker did not want to be reported, and forcing an early end to the match could stop the rest of the lobby from making reports.
While Call of Duty: Vanguard’s beta extension understandably got players excited, it will be a lot less fun to play the game if it is being plagued by cheaters. Unfortunately, opening the game up to the PC player base has caused problems that were not seen in the first weekend. It seems like cheaters can use all the same hacks that worked with Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and with cross-play enabled, console players are not safe from hackers.
With plenty of hype behind Call of Duty: Warzone’s new anti-cheat system, hopefully Call of Duty: Vanguard uses it as well. Considering that hackers are can instantly end matches, the game clearly needs some systems in place that help Sledgehammer get rid of cheaters quickly.
