Call of Duty: Vanguard is the latest World War 2 entry in the series, bringing a more over the top spin to the series in place of its previous attempts to stick closer to historical accuracy. Player are already getting familiar with the game and getting the incredible kills Call of Duty games are known to produce.

Of course, the launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard has not been completely without problems. Some players are simply not clicking with the game as much as previous entries, which is unsurprising given how the gaming landscape has changed since Call of Duty's hayday. But other problems, like bugs, are also contributing factors.

The glitches in Call of Duty: Vanguard currently run the gamut from annoying to hilarious. On the hilarious end, there's an elevator glitch that launches players into the sky like a massive catapult. On the less fun side of things is a glitch in the FOV settings. At a certain FOV setting, the capture message displayed when capturing a point appears right in the middle of the screen. This prevents players from properly aiming down sights with the text right in the way.

According to Reddit posters, this glitch stems form one particular FOV setting, although which one specifically is unclear. It is not a new problem to the series and is not native to one platform, as posters quickly confirmed that it appears on PC, Xbox consoles, and PlayStation consoles. Until the glitch is fixed, or the FOV setting that causes it is properly identified, this will likely continue to mess up the best maps in Call of Duty: Vanguard, definitely the ones that feature point capture and possibly some others.

This is far from the only glitch that directly impacts gameplay on a large scale, but it may actually be one of the most fixable through settings. Other glitches cause and have caused more trouble, and not all of these are easy to dismiss. The Call of Duty: Vanguard menu bug causes match interruptions that can completely disrupt the flow of a game.

It's always a shame to see a major franchise release plagued with issues like this, especially when other features that work as intended are not received well either. With the current Call of Duty landscape, its issues, and some lackluster design choices, it may not be such a huge shock to players that Call of Duty: Vanguard is the worst franchise UK launch since 2007. Maybe the next one will be better.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
