With Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer being so competitive, it makes sense that players would want to get every advantage they possibly can. According to YouTuber and content creator JGOD, one thing that Call of Duty: Vanguard players should consider using in their classes is Forward Intel.

The Forward Intel perk allows Call of Duty: Vanguard players to see indicators when enemies spawn back in after being killed. While JGOD points out that a similar perk was introduced in Call of Duty: WW2, but provided no major advantage, this version is unlikely to be an afterthought. In fact, JGOD believes it is “broken,” with the perk being one of the most underrated abilities in the game. This is because of its other effect, which widens the map.

As shown by JGOD, with the map being widened, players can see spawns from a very long distance. In fact, the video sees the YouTuber working on Call of Duty: Vanguard’s camo challenges, specifically longshots. Despite being such a far distance away from the enemy team, the red indicators are still showing up on the mini map. However, while this is useful, the real power of the perk shows once the spawning enemies are dead.

In the Call of Duty series, it can be difficult to tell when a team is flipping the spawns. This usually results in players being killed from behind, as a dominant team can be caught off guard once the opposition appears behind them. With this perk, though, players can instantly detect these spawn changes. If a spawn is flipped, players with Forward Intel will be able to see this instantly, getting a chance to warn their teammates or at the very least prepare themselves for the change.

As shown in the gameplay, which sees JGOD playing on the returning Call of Duty: World at War map Castle, the perk allows him to see when two enemies have spawned on the floor below him. As such, he jumps out of the window and picks up a few kills. He then sees more enemies spawn right back in due to the widened mini map, securing even more eliminations thanks to Forward Intel. In the right situations, this perk can be overpowered, as it almost gives players a permanent UAV. Later in the video, JGOD shows footage of a situation where having Forward Intel equipped would have saved his life and kept his killstreak alive.

With the video pointing out how this perk can give players a significant advantage while also helping them counter Call of Duty: Vanguard’s spawn issues, it seems like a must-have. Though players will have to sacrifice another Perk 2 option like Tracker or Engineer, Forward Intel should quickly prove to be more useful.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
