Call of Duty: Vanguard has finally been revealed. The shooter that could go down as the best-selling game of 2021 has already had loads of information shared about it, however, more tidbits have emerged. The dates for the PlayStation exclusive alpha have just been announced, but now details about the pre-load times are also available, along with information on the rewards for the event.

The PlayStation alpha for Call of Duty: Vanguard will take place from August 27, 2021, at 10 AM PT to August 29, 2021, at 10 AM PT. The alpha will feature the brand new game mode, Champion Hill. There are those who will want to start playing the moment the alpha opens, so pre-loading will be important.

Considering the full Call of Duty: Vanguard game has a massive file size, the more time to download the alpha the better; although it is likely that the alpha will not be quite as large. Once the alpha is downloaded/installed, it can be opened and played from within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone, or Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for those who have those games.

The PlayStation exclusive Call of Duty: Vanguard alpha is free, meaning a pre-order is not required. However, those who do end up picking up the FPS will have some rewards waiting for them. Participants of the alpha will receive a Calling Card and Emblem to use in Call of Duty: Vanguard, as well as Call of Duty: Warzone, once the integration of Vanguard and Warzone is complete.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the alpha is the ability to try out Champion Hill, the newest game mode. The details that have emerged today have provided the most knowledge thus far. But players will get a real taste by playing themselves, all while Vanguard uses the 2019 Modern Warfare engine.

Still, there are those who are outside of the PlayStation ecosystem who are patiently waiting for their own chance to enjoy the game. This likely will not be the first time some sort of alpha or beta is a part of the Call of Duty: Vanguard experience. If history is a foreteller of the future, the next pre-launch beta will likely be on all platforms, even if PlayStation receives it a day or so early.

Call of Duty: Vanguard releases November 5 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
