Call of Duty: Vanguard has its fair share of bugs and glitches, and the list seems to be growing larger with each passing day. Recently, a new elevator glitch has started to gain traction, as it sees Call of Duty: Vanguard players floating up into the sky.

For Call of Duty: Vanguard players that are willing to risk doing the glitch in-game, the process of pulling it off is remarkably simple. The first thing that players will want to do is find a corner of a structure or wall that they can use to blindfire. Once one of these areas is found, players simply need to place down some deployable cover next to the wall, getting as close to it as possible. Holding down the blindfire button will see players’ screens shake, and then they will float up into the sky.

The elevator glitch was shown off by @CronusNac on Twitter, with the first clip taking place on the map Castle. Players will slowly float in the air for as long as they hold the blindfire button, meaning they can reach some great heights. Intriguingly, they do not fall down instantly, which is why players have been using the bug to trickshot their opponents in online play. Once @CronusNac lets go of the blindfire button, they slowly descend from above, able to shoot everything below with ease.

While Call of Duty: Vanguard snipers will surely keep using this trick until it is patched, it is important to know that it has its limits. As shown in the Castle clip, players should not be using it to try to reach out of the map spots. When the Twitter user floats down from the sky, they clip through the Castle roof, being placed right back where they originally started floating. The glitch also takes several seconds of setup, so it could be hard to set up inside a busy public match lobby.

Regardless, it should make things interesting until it is fixed. The second clip from @CronusNac sees the player landing a trickshot, hitting someone on a rooftop as they descend from the sky. The clip also shows that the glitch will show up in Call of Duty: Vanguard’s killcams, so players worried about being reported may want to avoid doing it at the end of a match. While the bug is not strong enough to ruin games, gamers may want to start checking the sky from time to time.

While the elevator glitch will surely be addressed in a future Call of Duty: Vanguard patch, Sledgehammer is already working on fixes for several other bugs. As such, it may take a while before the developer finds out about the floating trickshotters.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
