Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now, and while it remains to be seen how much of a success the game will be, fans are clearly pleased with its multiplayer offering. In particular, many are satisfied with the progress Call of Duty: Vanguard made from the beta to launch day.

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s beta featured its fair share of issues, from broken spawns to Attack Dogs that turned on the player who called them in. Audio mixing was rough, with footsteps unable to be heard over the loud game volume, and visibility was a major problem. However, a vast majority of these problems were fixed leading into the full release of the game, and players have started to throw praise Sledgehammer’s way due to just how much the game has improved.

While there are still some spawn issues in Call of Duty: Vanguard, players have drawn attention to all the improvements made to audio, visuals, and the core gameplay. Redditor Theironcreed pointed these strengths out in a Reddit post, with the post in question calling Call of Duty: Vanguard “one of the most improved games from a beta” and “one of the smoothest COD launches.” Given how buggy Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was on release, this is a great sign for multiplayer fans.

With over 1,400 upvotes, many Call of Duty players clearly agree with the idea that the game is in a much better state than it was when they first played it. Commenter jayhart_ says that they are “blown away” by the improvements, saying that it feels like a “whole different game” and that the beta seems like a mistake. FallenTF says that Call of Duty: Vanguard feels like a combination of the best parts of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, while also adding that hit registration feels better than it did in the past.

Redditor CorndogCrusader believes that the game has the potential to be “one of the greats” due to its multiplayer, saying that Sledgehammer only needs to continue listening to the community to find success. They also point out the need for round-based Zombies content. Redditor ajl987 believes the game should kickstart the Vanguard subseries, with the game getting sequels like Black Ops and Modern Warfare. Clearly, the community is very satisfied with the PvP content.

If Call of Duty: Vanguard’s camo issues are fixed quickly, and more traditional Zombies content is added, fans could have very little to complain about when it comes to Sledgehammer’s latest game. With the past year being a rough one for many fans of the franchise, seeing all this positivity is a nice change.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
