With its anniversary approaching in a few short months, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War isn't pulling any punches when it comes to new content for the game. And with Season 5 for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War releasing later this month, fans could expect to put in plenty more hours into the game in the foreseeable future.

One of the biggest releases for this season is a new Operator for gamers to play as. The Operator for this season is a female gunner wearing an eyepatch in what looks to be a Japanese underground setting, as was also speculated by a recent leak. There are bright red numbers in the background, and the Operator seems to be dual-wielding two Uzis.

Now, on the official Call of Duty Twitter account, Treyarch confirmed this detail by releasing an image for the Operator with the caption "Keep your head." Additionally, Treyarch also made the announcement that Season 5 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone will go live starting on August 12.

In the original leak on Reddit, the user mentioned that the name of Season 5's Operator is Kitsune, who was possibly mentioned by Wraith during the outro for Season 4. This theory has more credibility since the image attached to the post was the same that Treyarch posted this morning. Other possible additions that were mentioned on the post was that there would also be two other Operators named Kingsley and Surge, but these might just be codenames.

Some fans were excited for the news of additional content and felt that it had been too long since Treyarch has made any. On top of that, some fans were also hoping for the game to bring back the Zombies Factions Weekly Challenges. However, others were not so enthusiastic, stating the game has gone stale and that Treyarch needs to implement more anti-hacking software since there is an extreme abundance of cheaters in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's online matches.

Ideally, this update brings enough of a change for fans from both sides of the spectrum to get more enjoyment out of the game. There is also another possibility of 12 new maps in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War based on a similar leak, so it seems there is an attempt by Treyarch to bring back its dedicated fanbase. Hopefully, it isn't too late for Treyarch to be making all of these huge changes for the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
