With Call of Duty: WW2 having been the best selling game of 2017, there's no doubt that there are plenty of would-be soldiers still entering the fray to hone their skills as we speak, with many eyeing the coveted maximum rank of "Master Prestige." While these fans are surely grinding as steadily as possible with the first-person shooter's slew of firearms, one player managed to reach Master Prestige without firing a single shot.

According to a recent piece from Kotaku, the Call of Duty: WW2 fan, YouTuber, and member of the professional gaming organization KARNAGE clan known as "TheseKnivesOnly" decided to take on the task of hitting the game's max rank by using melee and throwing knife kills only. Apparently, this isn't the first instance of the player setting such self-limitations, for he has actually made it a challenge for every Call of Duty entry since the original Black Ops in 2010.

As explained by TheseKnivesOnly, by using the Infantry Division’s bayonet charge, the shovel, ice pick, throwing knives, and combat knife, he managed to accumulate over 32,000 kills by the time he reached Master Prestige status in Call of Duty: WW2. The scorestreaks that he utilized in the game were specifically non-lethal, as the only ones he activated were the Recon Aircraft and Counter Recon Aircraft assists.

All things considered, TheseKnivesOnly's feat of achieving the max rank in Call of Duty: WW2 was surely no easy task, as there are 55 levels to reach in multiplayer before one can enter Prestige Mode, which then has to be done over and over again until reaching the eleventh and final rank of Master Prestige. Since Black Ops 4 could be in the cards for 2018, one can only imagine that TheseKnivesOnly will keep the tradition going with the next entry in the franchise.

Call of Duty: WW2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
