With its current model, it seems like Call of Duty fans have something new to do at all times. Call of Duty’s Seasons bring fresh challenges to complete alongside additional maps and modes. New guns being added means that players have more weapons to level up and unlock camos for, while additional Operators bring fresh cosmetics to unlock or purchase. However, while fans of the franchise always seem to have a reason to keep playing, November is going to be particularly special.

Come November 5, Call of Duty fans will see the release of a brand-new game, as Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to make its debut. Alongside a campaign, it will be bringing a multiplayer offering full of content and a unique take on Zombies. If that was not enough, Call of Duty: Warzone will be featuring some big events that build up to the removal of Verdansk and the introduction of Caldera. No matter which type of Call of Duty content players enjoy, there is something to look forward to during the month of November.

The Release Of Call of Duty: Vanguard

With Call of Duty: Vanguard releasing on November 5, players will be able to experience a whole new game full of fresh gameplay mechanics. The campaign will take a close look at the formation of special forces, with players controlling a few different characters. Arthur Kingsley and Polina Petrova are two of the standouts, with the heroic soldier and sniper being showcased often in the game’s marketing. Players will be able to unlock in-game rewards through the campaign, and the standard lineup of difficulties will be made available.

As for multiplayer, an impressive 20 maps will be available at launch. Four of these will be tied to Champion Hill, the game’s tournament-style take on Gunfight. The other 16 will be tied to traditional 6v6 play, doubling the count of last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. On top of that, the fan favorite map Shipment will be coming a few weeks after launch, giving players access to some new content before Season 1 even begins. While it boasts a fresh visual style and a few adjustments to the layout, the same small size seen in older versions of Shipment will remain.

Alongside the many multiplayer maps, there will be a few unique things coming to Call of Duty: Vanguard. Operator levels will see players earning XP for their character of choice, unlocking special outfits for them as they go through the ranks. A new game mode called Patrol features a moving zone, working like an updated version of Hardpoint. A destruction mechanic will also feature, letting players destroy parts of a map to open up extra sightlines. With a deep Gunsmith system and at least one mastery camo to grind for, players should have plenty to do in PvP.

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Zombies mode is also going to be interesting. While it is developed by Treyarch, the original creator of the beloved co-op mode, it is going to be significantly different from past iterations of Zombies. Der Anfang will not be a round-based Survival map, as players will instead be completing objectives in various locations. Stalingrad will serve as a hub area for this mode, with players using Pack-A-Punch here and teleporting to the different locations.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies fans have spotted a new perk, confirming that there will be at least one new option inside Der Anfang. However, the roguelike Altar of Covenants feature could be where Der Anfang really shines, as it will allow players to get different upgrades every single match. With one of the areas that features in Der Anfang being none other than Shi No Numa from Call of Duty: World at War, this co-op mode is definitely something to keep an eye on.

The Build-Up To Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific

While December will be a bigger month for Call of Duty: Warzone fans, as Season 1 marks the beginning of the game’s Pacific content, November will still add some content to the battle royale game. As they wait for Call of Duty: Vanguard integration and the release of Caldera, there will be a few different events for gamers to participate in.

Starting on November 18, Operation: Flashback will commence, and it will see players enjoying their final days on the Verdansk map. The event will supposedly include “plenty of surprises” that celebrate Verdansk’s history, with points of interest or memorable easter eggs possibly set to return. Those that participate in the event will get a special emblem, while players who manage to snag a win during this time will unlock an exclusive animated Calling Card. While details are limited, every circle of the match will supposedly start a special event, so players will want to try out Operation: Flashback once it is added.

Another event developed by Beenox will be added on November 24, with this one remaining unnamed. It will apparently feature teasers for the new Caldera map and its points of interest, though, with players completing objectives like Pacific Artifact hunting. Finally, Verdansk will be destroyed once and for all come November 30, with players able to see its destruction until Season 1 kicks off on December 2. While the original Verdansk was destroyed prior to Verdansk 84 being added, it is unclear if the same events will play out this time around. With the previous Destruction event featuring the undead, it seems likely that there will be some kind of change made to this version. This is purely speculation, however.

While many are looking forward to the new map, aerial combat, and Ricochet anti-cheat, it certainly seems like November’s content will help kill the time. With three different events planned, Raven Software is giving Verdansk a proper sendoff, and many Call of Duty fans will surely want to bid farewell to the fictional country. With tons of Call of Duty: Warzone content being made available, and Call of Duty: Vanguard officially releasing, November 2021 is going to be a big month for Activision’s flagship shooter.
