After weeks of rumors and leaks, Call of Duty: Warzone finally added Zombies as part of the Season 2 update. Though many players are having fun facing off with the undead, Call of Duty: Warzone fan and professional player NICKMERCS is disappointed by the addition.

Zombies in Call of Duty: Warzone work much like they did in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode, with a dedicated location on the map that interested players can land at for a guaranteed fight with the walking corpses. While it is unclear if they will populate other parts of Verdansk as the Outbreak event goes on, currently the Zombies are tied only to the Shipwreck. However, even this small-scale addition of Zombies seems to be annoying NICKMERCS, with the loadout expert particularly bothered by the method of arrival for the PvE enemies.

At the start of every single match, players need to watch the Vodianoy cargo ship crashing onto shore. Calling the addition “pointless,” NICKMERCS takes issue with the fact that the scene must be watched before every match — a fair complaint considering that it makes the wait to play even longer. Worse, a sound glitch is making the cutscene incredibly loud, with the ship’s crash causing NICKMERCS to shout over the noise. While the player screaming over the scene is funny, his point is clear, and fans like Golden Tiger Eyes have been sure to capture the memorable moment as a separate clip.

NICKMERCS also blames Fortnite for starting the controversial mixture of PvE and PvP gameplay, and intriguingly, he is not the first to make this complaint. A few months back, popular streamer XQC complained about PvE elements in Fortnite, with the argument being made that some players want nothing to do with these features. While XQC suggested a mode with and without these features inside Fortnite, NICKMERCS would likely want to see the same done inside Call of Duty: Warzone.

While NICKMERCS biggest issue with the update is the unskippable, overly loud Zombies cutscene, he has also reiterated some issues with the Gulag. While the concept of the extra location is interesting, players have claimed that the Nuketown Gulag is unfair. With one side seemingly having an advantage as well as some frustrating weapons and bugs appearing, the FaZe member is not the only one to suggest that “the Gulag sucks” and is “horrible.” Hopefully, changes come soon for this issue.

While NICKMERCS may not be a fan of Zombies, their arrival is seemingly building up to something major. With an upcoming Nuke Event rumored to destroy the Verdansk map and usher in a new 80s-themed location for battle royale fans to enjoy, it may not be long before NICKMERCS and other frustrated players are happy with the game again.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
