Later this week, both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale will be entering Season 5. And as usual, this means that there will be a rather sizable update for fans to download. Now it's been confirmed the exact file size for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5, so fans can prepare their hard drives accordingly.
It's been revealed that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 update will be about 36 GB. However, after downloading the update, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare file size will actually be smaller than it was before. This is because Infinity Ward is using the update to optimize some of the game's assets, allowing it to take up less space. In any case, 36 GB is still quite large, but at least some players are able to pre-load this time around.
In a pretty significant change of pace, it appears as though PS4 owners are able to pre-load the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 update. The update won't actually be available to install until it goes live on August 5, but either way this will allow PlayStation gamers to jump into the action much faster than usual.
As for what Season 5 will entail, that remains to be seen. In terms of Warzone, Activision has teased that it will open up Stadium on the battle royale map, as well as add moving trains. It's also confirmed that the antagonistic Shadow Company will be added to the game. However, more specific details beyond that are unavailable at the time of this writing.
Even less is known about what Season 5 has in store for the standard Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer. Surprisingly, there's been a lack of leaks this time around, with the only real leak being the possibility of a Cornfield Gunfight map being added to the mix.
Luckily, more information should come sooner rather than later. Activision is expected to fully detail the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 update either later today or tomorrow, so fans should learn everything they need to know soon.
