Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 is set to launch this week, and as expected, it's going to come with a huge download size. While a specific file size has not been revealed, Infinity Ward's Paul Haile has warned players to expect a "big" update for the game, and so they should plan accordingly.

In a pair of tweets, Haile explained that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 update will be large, not unlike previous seasonal updates, but that the studio will be using it to optimize some of the game's asset packs. Essentially, this will allow Infinity Ward to reduce the amount of hard drive space that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are currently taking up. So while the Season 5 update will be big, by the time it's done, the overall Modern Warfare and Warzone file size should be smaller.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare file size has long been a point of contention among fans, as it and the Warzone battle royale take up a considerable amount of space. However, the games are rather large and have demanding visuals, so it's not all that surprising.

And it sounds like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 may be one of the biggest seasons yet. While Infinity Ward has kept its Modern Warfare Season 5 plans a secret so far, there have been numerous leaks about what is potentially coming to Warzone. Apparently, if the leaks and rumors are to be believed, Warzone Season 5 will see some significant map changes to the battle royale.

Specifically, Warzone Season 5 is expected to open up Stadium, possibly as the result of an explosion. This will give players a large new interior area to explore, which should give longtime Warzone players something new and interesting to do. Meanwhile, it's also expected that moving trains will be added to Warzone, which could also shake up players' strategies in the game.

As for what else Warzone and Modern Warfare Season 5 have to offer, that remains to be seen. Activision usually details the new Call of Duty updates early in the week, though, so fans shouldn't have to wait too much longer to find out more.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
