Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans have noticed a strange and unexpected crossover in their multiplayer lobbies. The unexpected appearance of a familiar tool caught many fans off guard while others say it may be more than a glitch. Modern Warfare fans must now decide what to do when Armor Plates appear in their Hardcore lobbies.

Warzone Armor plates give players a chance to live when being fired at. In BR game modes, they help provide a slight window of safety for fans to find cover and survive poorly executed ambushes. In multiplayer, however, there is no such mechanic, so when a player is found using Armor Plates, several questions immediately appeared.

In a heated match of Hardcore on Shipment Reddit user, Blaine_0415 is having a normal match. They eliminate a player next to some barrels, charge forward before turning to the left where another enemy is clearly vulnerable and ready to be gunned down. As they fire into the player they noticed the familiar sound of armor and the symbol for armor plates appearing at their reticle. After unloading most of a clip, they instead charged the player and hit them to death with the butt of their gun.

This bug has been reported several times by other players, but it is unclear how long it has been surfacing in Modern Warfare Hardcore game modes. It operates just like the Warzone counterpart, granting players extra health on a temporary basis. In game modes like Hardcore, effects like this can be fundamentally broken for fans.

With Warzone Season 5 on the horizon fans can only hope that Infinity Ward fixes this problem in the next update. The Reddit user who posted the clip claimed that two players on the enemy team had armor, which makes this closer to an exploit than a simple glitch. It is unknown if there is any workaround as of yet, fans are advised to aim for the head as armor does not protect from headshot damage.

Fans in the comments have had varying reactions to the glitch. Some blame hackers while others think it is a miscode in the Modern Warfare EOD perk that causes it. Some players believe that it could be a form of spawn protection as it has only appeared on Shipment to date. No matter the case, it makes Hardcore matches frustrating and much longer then they need to be. Fans are waiting for Infinity Ward to patch this problem sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
