Every week, Infinity Ward releases new updates for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone. Typically, these updates are preceded by a "This Week in Call of Duty" blog post from Activision, and the latest update is no different. Activision has detailed some of what Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone fans can expect from this week's update, though it's a bit lighter compared to most weeks.

This week, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players can look forward to the new Cyber Attack Pro playlist. Cyber Attack Pro removes the need for players to revive their teammates like in the regular Cyber Attack, and instead switches respawns on. According to Activision, Cyber Attack Pro in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will require players to "find the balance between completing the objective and eliminating enemies," so it should appeal to both tactically-oriented players and those who just prefer to run and gun.

This week's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update will also be adding Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and double Battle Pass tier progression. Players can earn this by playing the standard Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer, completing Spec Ops co-op missions, or by playing the Warzone battle royale. Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and double Battle Pass tier progression will go live beginning Friday, April 3 at 10am PT and will last until April 6 at 10am PT, so those interested should be sure to play some Modern Warfare this weekend.

The double XP and double Battle Pass tier progression comes at an opportune time, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 is nearing the end. The current plan is for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 to conclude on April 7, and while that end date could change, this means that this weekend is potentially the last good opportunity for players to complete their Battle Pass.

Presumably, the end of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 will usher in Season 3, which should mean plenty of new content for fans of the standard multiplayer as well as Warzone enthusiasts. Datamine leaks have pointed to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3 adding the Call of Duty 4 map Backlot as well as the MW3 map Village, but that remains to be seen.

Beyond new content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, fans also have the leaked Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered to look forward to as well. Needless to say, Call of Duty fans should have plenty to do in the game over the next couple of weeks.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
