Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is already the best-selling video game of 2019, absolutely smashing sales records in the process. As such, the game has a massive and rather vocal community, who have been quick to point out changes that they feel need to be made to make the game better. Luckily for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players, Infinity Ward will be releasing a new update to address various issues "over the next few days," according to Sr. Communications Manager Ashton Williams.

Williams took to Twitter to reveal that the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update will improve stability, fix bugs, have some "weapon tuning," fix ongoing issues with footsteps, and will also address claymores. Claymores are notoriously overpowered in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, so many fans will be happy to learn that they will be getting tweaked in the new update, though how exactly they will change has yet to be revealed.

Claymores get complained about quite a bit by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans online, but there is another weapon that draws even more ire - the 725 shotgun. With the right attachments, the 725 shotgun in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare can effectively be used at the same distance as a sniper rifle, which is almost certainly not Infinity Ward's intention. A fan on Twitter asked Williams if the 725 shotgun would be getting addressed in the new update, and she replied, "If testing goes well, yes."

A 725 shotgun nerf may very well top the list of things Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players want to see fixed, so hopefully it comes in the next patch. In the meantime, it remains to be seen what else the update will entail, but Williams' tweet does say that there will be "more" than what she has listed, including fixes for the Spec Ops co-op mode bugs.

Some fans will have their fingers crossed that the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update will add a new public playlist for multiplayer. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1.06 update added Kill Confirmed after all, so maybe we'll see some other fan favorite modes like Gun Game added next.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
