Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has had a smoother launch than many other online multiplayer games, but that doesn't mean it's been without its issues. In fact, there are a number of concerns that Infinity Ward has had to address with patches and updates. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Update 1.08 released overnight, and some fans may be wondering what Infinity Ward has fixed this time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Update 1.08 is a 3.4GB download on PS4 and Xbox One, and an 8GB download on PC. Unlike Update 1.07, it doesn't add any significant new content to the game, but it does make some important fixes and balance changes that will likely be appreciated by fans regardless. Some of the most notable changes include additional stability improvements so the game shouldn't crash quite as much as it has been for some players, as well as footstep adjustments so the "walk" footstep sounds play when aiming down sighs, crouching, and when moving slowly.

The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update also makes yet another change to the overpowered 725 shotgun. Infinity Ward has once again attempted to nerf the 725 shotgun by decreasing its range. However, the last time Infinity Ward attempted to do this, the 725 shotgun was still effective at fairly long ranges. Whether or not it went far enough with this latest nerf remains to be seen.

Infinity Ward also fixed a bug with the Riot Shield so that it won't block explosive damage. These changes to the Riot Shield and 725 shotgun should make the most overpowered Modern Warfare multiplayer class not nearly as overpowered as it once was. Considering this, some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer players may need to adjust their loadouts accordingly.

Overall, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Update 1.08 should be well-received by fans, as it addresses some fan complaints, including what's already been mentioned here as well as Piccadilly spawn points and the Challenges bug where it wouldn't properly track players' progress. Some fans may be disappointed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Update 1.08 didn't add new maps like the last update did, but maybe new content will come next time around.

There has been some evidence to suggest that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be adding new weapons for multiplayer, including a crossbow, so maybe these new weapons will be added with the next update. If so, let's hope that they don't add new balance problems for Infinity Ward to deal with.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
