Since its launch last week, Infinity Ward has been quick to release updates for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to address fan complaints and feedback. Now one of the more substantial Call of Duty: Modern Warfare updates is available, with Patch 1.06 making a number of fixes and adding new game modes to public playlists.

The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1.06 update looks to fix stability across all platforms, removes Battlechatter from one-life modes (like the 2v2 Gunfight mode), and fixes the issue where weapon charms were messing up aiming. Claymores have also received a slight nerf in the new update, as stun grenades can now disable them for three seconds. The issue with footsteps being too loud has also been addressed, as have some other minor issues.

Besides fixes, the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update also adds some new game modes to public playlists. Players can now select NVG Realism if they want, which allows them to play on nighttime maps with Realism rules applied. Perhaps more excitingly, players can now also play fan favorite match type Kill Confirmed in public playlists. Previously, Kill Confirmed was only available in private matches.

Moving forward, fans can expect Infinity Ward to continue making changes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to improve the first-person shooter for its players. While specifics on these future updates haven't been released at this time, a rumor is going around that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting a big November update that will "overhaul" the experience. What this means exactly remains to be seen, but the rumor is that one of the main changes will be focused on the mini-map.

For the uninitiated, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare mini-map is somewhat controversial as it does not show enemy positions when they fire, which is a departure from previous games in the series. If the rumors are to be believed, Infinity Ward will be changing the Modern Warfare mini-map later this month so that it functions more like how it did in previous Call of Duty games. This has yet to be confirmed, though, so fans will just need to keep an eye on upcoming patch notes released for the game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
