The second season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been out for nearly two weeks, bringing back many players eager to try out what has been added to the game. However, the Infinity Ward team is also hard at work patching exploits that give an unfair advantage to veterans. But in the wake of their efforts in the newest update, similar types of glitches have surfaced and been discovered by players around the world.

One of the newest exploits uncovered is unlimited use of the Tactical Sprint. This mechanic was introduced with Modern Warfare's 2019 launch and dramatically increases the player's sprinting speed in comparison to a basic sprint. Once it ends, the player incurs a higher than normal sprint out time where they briefly cannot aim their weapon's sight. Primarily used as a way to quickly cross larger maps filled with dozens of players, the feature can also be utilized to disengage or tactically retreat from a bad fight. Normally Tactical Sprint expires after several seconds, but there is now a method to ensure the timer never runs out.

Tactical Sprint Forever

On Twitter, user CanadianFishh has uploaded a tutorial on how to perform the new Tactical Sprint exploit.

  1. To start, players need to holster whatever Primary Weapon they have and equip a Combat Knife in their Secondary.
  2. Switch to the knife and double-tap the sprint button to start Tactical Sprinting.
  3. A few seconds later, players need to slide and switch to their Primary Weapon which will extend the Tactical Sprint past its normal expiration.
  4. Afterwards, players should slide every 5 seconds in order to reset their Tactical Sprint duration.

If these steps are constantly repeated, players will be able to have Tactical Sprint up indefinitely which could help in the rumored Battle Royale mode. In his video, CanadianFishh manages to keep Tactical Sprint going from the first step to the end of the tutorial, almost reaching a full minute of sprinting.

While unlimited Tactical Sprint has many uses, the glitched mechanic won't suddenly make new players better than veteran Modern Warfare fans. Even though the sprint can be maintained much longer than normal, eventually players will have to stop, drop, and aim. At that point, players will still briefly suffer from weapon ADS speed which makes Tactical Sprinting usage less-than-ideal for close-quarter combat in maps like Shipment. But if the goal is to go from border to border on Tavorsk District in record time, this glitch will be the way to go until it gets patched.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
