Prior to launch, it was confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would feature a unique cosmetic in the form of a Tamagotchi watch called the TamaGUNchi. The Tamagunchi still isn't in the game, but there's a good chance that it could be added sooner rather than later.

Reddit user Pandamanlma0 was able to see the Tamagunchi in-game and provided a screenshot of it as evidence. An Infinity Ward developer commented on the post, confirming that the Tamagunchi isn't actually supposed to be in the game just yet. They added that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Tamagunchi won't function properly until its officially supposed to be in the game, with it still needing to be tested.

As for when the Tamagunchi watch will be in Modern Warfare, that's also unclear. The Infinity Ward developer that responded to the Reddit post was unable to provide a release date, as it seems the team is having difficulty getting it to work properly. However, with it now appearing physically for some players, hopefully that means the Tamagunchi release date isn't too far off.

Perhaps the Tamagunchi will come to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare around the time season 2 launches. Modern Warfare season 1 will conclude on January 28, and season 2 is expected to bring with it a ton of new content for fans to sink their teeth into, like new maps, game modes, and weapons, not to mention a brand new battle pass.

It's possible that the Tamagunchi will actually be a Modern Warfare battle pass reward. However, considering how popular it could potentially be and its unique gimmick of feeding off in-game kills, one has to imagine that it will instead be a cosmetic that players have to purchase outright. Nothing in regards to the Modern Warfare Tamagunchi pricing has been announced so far, though, so fans should wait for an official announcement for more information.

Infinity Ward has started weekly community updates to keep Modern Warfare players up to date on what's going on in the game, so fans should keep an eye on those for more information. New Modern Warfare community updates will be released on Fridays, so maybe we'll have more information on the Tamagunchi later this week.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
