In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare one of the signs of match-based domination is the infamous Tactical Nuke. Modern Warfare fans battle to try and gain the uninterrupted 30 kills needed to unlock the game-ending killstreak and blast away the competition in a final defining act. Although players can often see the nuke land, one fan wanted a different perspective.

Modern Warfare players are familiar with what a nuke animation looks like from internet videos, encounters in previous games, or the unfortunate run-ins with the killstreak. The massive blossoming effect of the signature mushroom cloud is a staple for military and history fans alike. This player was not happy with his ground view and instead went to the sky for a much more tactical assessment of the equation.

In what appears to be a private match, Reddit user Jude458 gathered up two distinct killstreaks for one mission. After calling in a nuke at the beginning of the video, the player then activates a Gunship killstreak allowing them an aerial view of the devastation. In a bright flash of white players can see the impact on the right side of the screen.

As the light dies down a rolling wave of explosive devastation flows through the map wiping out enemies, buildings, and ending the match in a beautiful explosion. Normally, nukes are seen from the ground point of view allowing a few moments of bright light before simply ending in death and the eventual tactical nuke end-game screen that accompanies the killstreak. This new aerial view gives the game a unique perspective that many fans would never have the chance to see.

This perspective gives a view to the detail and pacing that the developers put forth in this killstreak's implementation. The attention to detail makes Modern Warfare a more enjoyable game experience for fans, even when being destroyed by a nuke.

Fans in the comments are challenging the Reddit user to push their experiment to the next level. Rather than trying to see it simply from an aerial point of view, players wonder what the animation would look like from a cruise missile's point of view.

Whether or not the fan completes this challenge, they have still offered a very unique point of view to the games community. The nuke is such a revered and sought for killstreak, so it is refreshing to fans that the level of detail they thought was involved truly does show on camera.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
