Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has some balance issues, which pretty much every player can agree with to one degree or another. Describing this imbalance or capturing it in a way so as to persuade others that it's there and egregious, however, can be a challenge. Other times, it's as clear as day. Such is the case with a Twitch clip shared by the streamer named Avery in which he reaches over 183 kills in a single Modern Warfare match.

The match in question is being referenced as an example in an ongoing community conversation about Modern Warfare's spawning system. Modern Warfare has been heavily criticized for its unintelligent spawning system that constantly positions players in ways that put them in danger of dying again immediately. The counter-argument is that if all players spawn through the same system, it's asymmetrically fair. However, as the clip shows, sometimes game conditions show how clearly unfair Modern Warfare's spawning can become.

Avery's clip starts after he has already begun to dominate the match. In fact, he's doing so well that he's already earned and equipped one of Modern Warfare's strongest killstreaks - the Juggernaut. Avery is able to equip the Juggernaut gear, which includes reinforced armor and a high DPS minigun, and control the match with little effort. He stands in one place, a corner, and lets his enemies spawn over and over in front of him. He's then able to kill them so fast that they can't kill him before he recovers.

Modern Warfare's struggling spawning system is on full display in the clip. Enemies spawn endlessly right in front of Avery, who is able to kill them as soon as he aims at them with his Juggernaut minigun. The enemies also spawn looking in directions where they're having to turn completely around to see Avery, whereas all Avery has to do is turn slightly right or left. It's entirely unfair and Modern Warfare creates this unfairness through a spawn system that needs significant improvements.

While there's a point to be made that the Juggernaut killstreak is intended to be overpowering, that's not the heart of the problem. Avery's Juggernaut spree just magnifies the issue. With the Juggernaut, Avery is able to kill dozens upon dozens of enemies. But even without Juggernaut, Avery could easily take advantage of the spawning system to get easy kills. If a Modern Warfare player is able to manipulate the spawn system to get even 2 or 3 kills for every eath, that's still very unfair. The Juggernaut is just the logical conclusion of the imbalance.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
