Call of Duty: Modern Warfare just launched this past Friday, and so far the reception to the game has been mostly positive. That being said, there have been some complaints about the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer playlists, specifically in regards to how players have been forced to play in playlists that put them in both larger-scale 10v10 multiplayer matches with bigger maps and the more traditional 6v6 maps. Luckily for fans, Infinity Ward has now changed things for the better.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players can now filter their playlists based on map and match size. This means that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players who aren't fond of the bigger maps can make it so they only have to play in the 6v6 maps. While this may not seem like a big deal to some players, it has been met with a hugely positive reception from the community, and it shows that Infinity Ward is wasting no time addressing fan complaints about the new game.
That being said, it's worth pointing out that this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer playlist change won't necessarily address all the issues fans have with the game's maps. Some feel as though the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer maps are designed in a way that they encourage camping and discourage players from partaking in the more typical, run-and-gun style of Call of Duty multiplayer play. Unfortunately, this complaint can't really be addressed without Infinity Ward making sweeping changes to the maps, and it's unlikely that's actually going to happen.
However, that doesn't mean all hope is lost. Infinity Ward plans on releasing free content updates for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in the future, and these content updates will sometimes contain new multiplayer maps. Rumors indicate that at least some of these Call of Duty: Modern Warfare DLC maps will be based on classic Call of Duty maps, with both Rust and Terminal having "leaked" for the game. No announcements about those maps have been just yet, but it would be surprising for Infinity Ward to keep its most popular maps out of the new game.
In the meantime, fans can expect Infinity Ward to update Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on a regular basis in response to fan feedback.
