The big mid-season update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the Warzone battle royale added a brand new weapon to the game that players can earn through a challenge or purchase in a bundle. The powerful Rytec AMR sniper rifle has quickly become a popular new addition to Call of Duty players' arsenal, but the weapon is not without its problems. In fact, there's a number of bugs associated with the Rytec AMR, with one of the most frustrating for players being one that makes it so the gun doesn't level up.

Many Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players have reported an issue where the Rytec AMR is not leveling up, keeping them from unlocking its attachments and skins. Understandably, the Rytec AMR not leveling up is a big issue for players who are dedicating time trying to unlock everything for the weapon, but luckily Infinity Ward has a solution to the problem.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, Infinity Ward's Joe Cecot explained that all players need to do is take off the Rytec AMR's explosive rounds. Apparently, the Rytec AMR explosive rounds are triggering the bug that keeps the gun from leveling up. Modern Warfare fans that prefer using explosive rounds will be disappointed by this news, but at least this way they can keep unlocking attachments for the gun while they wait on a fix.

Infinity Ward releases new Modern Warfare updates on a weekly basis, so a fix for this particular Rytec AMR bug could come as early as next week. Infinity Ward is hoping to fix at least some of the Rytec AMR bugs with the next update, but it's possible fans may have to wait a bit longer for this specific issue to be resolved.

In the meantime, it's unclear why Rytec AMR bugs have been so prevalent in Modern Warfare. Infinity Ward has added new weapons to the game in the past with minimal technical issues, yet there seems to be a lot of problems with the Rytec AMR. Regardless, fans can expect Infinity Ward to issue fixes for the problems as soon as possible, as the studio is usually pretty quick to address these things.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
