After delaying the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 in solidarity with ongoing Black Lives Matter protests, Activision and Infinity Ward finally released it last night along with bug fixes for Modern Warfare and Warzone. However, apparently not everything that Infinity Ward wanted to hit was covered right away, as the developer announced on Twitter this morning it is temporarily removing the Gun Game mode in a playlist update to fix another bug.

The popular game mode, first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops, was most recently added back into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare alongside Shipment 24/7 and other playlists in the May 26, 2020 playlist update. No specific reason is given for its temporary removal by Infinity Ward, so it's unclear exactly which bug it is hoping to fix.

Also affected by today's playlist update is the brand new Warzone Rumble mode, which splits players in the battle royale game into two teams of 50 with automatic respawning that lets those teams build up points through kills rather than fighting to become the last soldier standing. All platforms will now have the score limit in Warzone Rumble bumped up to 400 according to Infinity Ward's Tweet.

The official launch of Season 4 includes a lot of content for players to experience. So much so, in fact, that Infinity Ward Senior Communications Manager Ashton Williams said some of its assets had to be compressed to try and reduce the overall disc space the games take up.

Among the additions to Season 4, in the footsteps of other fan-favorite locales like Rust that have been implemented since the game's launch, is classic Modern Warfare 2 map Scrapyard. Trench was also added for Gunfights alongside Barakett Promenade for Ground War, and a road map for the remainder of Season 4's content outlines new playable operators Gaz and Roze as well as the multiplayer map Cheshire Park coming sometime in the future.

Between these additions and game modes like One in the Chamber on the way, there is certainly a lot for fans of the first-person shooter franchise to look forward to in the next few weeks. While Modern Warfare is somewhat emptier than usual with the removal of Gun Game, it should not take long for that to reappear and add to the bevy of options players can choose to take part in.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
