Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Will Have Dedicated Servers

Activision confirms via an official Q&A section on its website that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will feature dedicated servers when it arrives later this year.

There’s little question that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has quickly become one of the most anticipated games this year. Announced to launch as part of Infinite Warfare‘s Legacy Edition, the refreshed take on the game that helped establish Call of Duty as a blockbuster franchise has been something that fans have wanted for some time now. While going in and playing through the campaign with some added shine will be a treat for players, theres no question that the multiplayer aspect of the title will be the best part of the game for consumers anxiously waiting to dive in.

Fortunately, it sounds as if Activision plans on ensuring that the multiplayer aspect of the game will be up to snuff, and it has done so by reassuring gamers that the title will have its own dedicated servers. The publisher confirmed as much in a Q&A for Modern Warfare Remastered on its official website – the exact same one that confirmed the game would not be sold separately – and it did so in a rather direct fashion.

The site simply posed the question of “will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered have dedicated servers?” As fans may have been able to piece together based on the title of this article, the answer ended up being:

“Yes, it will.”

This means that connection issues will be far and few between, provided the user has a solid Internet connection to begin with, and that’s great for those hoping to jump back into a familiar experience with as few hiccups as possible. Given the fact that there will only be 10 remastered multiplayer maps to choose some, a handful of gamers may still be uninterested in the multiplayer component of the remastered title. Those that are excited, however, look to be in for quite an enhanced spectacle – as was evident in the recent side-by-side comparison of Modern Warfare.

There’s still a lot of details that fans don’t know about the revamped take on MW, but there should be plenty of additional information in the coming weeks to look forward to. With that said, most of the info will likely pertain to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, but additional news regarding which multiplayer maps will likely be given more a more formal reveal. In the meantime, stay tuned to Game Rant.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is set to arrive for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 4, 2016. However, it will be available as a digital download exclusively alongside the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
