As with every weekly briefing posted to the Activision Games Blog, one major part of the new content coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare this week is purchasable bundles in the Call of Duty Store. Last week, players got access to the Hydra Slayer bundle with new weapons, while this week will offer two bundles focusing on gear with racer-inspired skins and on the playable operator Charly.

The "Mach 8" Racing Series bundle adds red-and-white blueprints for the Autoclave SMG and Winner's Circle Handgun, both covered in decals with checkerboard racing stripes, brand names, and more. It also adds two vehicle skins for use in the battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone, as well as a horn variant that "blares a race countdown sound."

Meanwhile, the "Earth Expeditionary Force" bundle provides Charly a new skin called "The Outsider," as well as a unique Legendary Colonial Standard LMG, a watch, weapon charm, calling card, and emblem. While it isn't unusual for different operators to receive new looks through bundles, recently Call of Duty: Modern Warfare removed a controversial skin based on a U.S. Border Patrol agent due to its ill-conceived reference and tagline saying, "Show them the error of their ways and make them pay."

These new featured bundles are not the only things highlighted by the Activision Games Blog post. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are also seeing huge shifts in their available playlists, from 3v3 Gunfight Snipers Only in Modern Warfare to a Duos Stimulus mode in Warzone. Players can also now purchase tiers in the Battle Pass at a discounted price to get new items easier.

Other games in the franchise like Call of Duty: Mobile, which just began its eighth season of content called "The Forge," were also spotlighted in this week's series briefing. At the same time, a Microsoft listing for Call of Duty 2020 called "The Red Door" recently leaked online, suggesting Activision may be preparing to unveil its next title soon.

For now, extra content such as new bundles and playlists being added into current Call of Duty titles will continue to keep them relevant for many players. Modern Warfare was the second best-selling game of June 2020 according to NPD Group reports, and it seems unlikely this momentum will slow down.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
