Last October, Activision released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which serves as the 16th installment in the Call of Duty franchise, and a reboot of the popular Modern Warfare sub-series. Since its launch, the game continues to receive constant content updates with the highly-anticipated second season on the horizon, making it even more attractive for players who still haven't picked up the game.

Now, PS4 players interested in joining the growing community of Modern Warfare would be happy to know that the PlayStation Store is currently offering a 35% discount for the first-person shooter. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently available on the PlayStation Store for $38.99, which is $21 cheaper than its list price of $59.99. It is also worth pointing out that the PlayStation Store's offering is currently the cheapest price available for the PS4 version of the game, as compared to other major video game retailers.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare received mostly positive reviews from players and critics alike when it released last year. The game also smashed several sales records such as the top-selling new game of 2019, the biggest selling digital opening in Activision's history, the highest digital sales on PS4 for a three-day period, and its first three days in the market sold more units than any Call of Duty game for the current console generation.

After Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's commercial success, all eyes are now on what Activision plans to do next with the game. Modern Warfare's first season was supposed to end on January 28th but has since been extended into next month. As of the moment, developer Infinity Ward still hasn't confirmed when Season 2 will start, but it is likely to begin shortly after Season 1 ends on February 11. Modern Warfare's Season 2 is rumored to introduce new weapons, classic Call of Duty Maps, and many more.

Meanwhile, for the final week of January, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's multiplayer playlist update is set to introduce a new version of Gunfight, which now allows players to select which weapons they bring into the map. A new mode called Deathmatch Denomination will also be included, and, as the name implies, will combine Deathmatch and Domination modes. Lastly, the update is bringing back the popular Shipment 24/7 playlist, replacing the Shoot the Ship playlist that is in the game right now.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
