Update 8/12: The Shoot the Ship playlist is now available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Original story follows.

On August 11, Infinity Ward released a new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the Warzone battle royale that nerfed the Bruen MK9 and FAL. The hubbub surrounding this update overshadowed the other update that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone also received on August 11, which changed up the playlists that are available in both standard multiplayer and battle royale.

The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare playlist update brings Gunfight 3v3 - Blueprint to Modern Warfare, as well as Bare Bones Moshpit, Hardcore Team Deathmatch, and Hardcore Kill Confirmed. The Bare Bones Moshpit lets Modern Warfare players battle it out on a variety of different maps, but without all of the bells and whistles that are usually included in Call of Duty online matches. This means that there are no killstreaks, field upgrades, or perks for players to worry about. This simplifies things significantly, and should definitely appeal to Call of Duty fans looking for a more old-school experience.

Meanwhile, the update also makes some changes to the Call of Duty: Warzone playlists. Upon downloading the new update, Call of Duty: Warzone fans will notice that the Blood Money variant has been removed and replaced by standard Plunder Quads. There are some fans who greatly prefer regular Plunder over the Blood Money variant, so they are no doubt happy to see it finally make its return.

Plunder Quads isn't the only game mode that is currently available to Call of Duty: Warzone fans. The other standard battle royale modes are also available, with Duos, Trios, Quads, and Stimulus Solos playlists ready to play. The experimental Mini Royale mode is also still available in Call of Duty: Warzone, though it remains to be seen how long the limited-time mode will remain in the game. Considering this, anyone interested should be sure to play it while they still can.

Something fans will notice is missing from the list of Call of Duty playlists is the Shoot the Ship playlist. The fan favorite Shoot the Ship playlist brings Shipment and Shoot House together, and it was previously announced to be coming to the game this week, though is nowhere to be seen. It's quite possible that Infinity Ward is waiting to add Shoot the Ship until this weekend, as it has done similar things with popular playlists in the past.

Of course, Call of Duty fans can expect the Modern Warfare and Warzone playlists to continue changing throughout Season 5. Next week will likely bring with it yet another playlist revamp, so fans should stay tuned.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
