Call of Duty: Modern Warfare received the popular One in the Chamber mode in the last update alongside several other changes. The announcement was part of the standard Tuesday update, where playlists are usually added or removed from Modern Warfare.

Shortly after the release of One in the Chamber, the developers are already applying a patch to adjust its features. Although this is a small patch it will still change a major part of the new game mode, bringing it closer to the original concept.

One in the Chamber is a popular mode that has repeatedly appeared in the Call of Duty franchise. The concept is simple, players have one bullet in their gun that will be refunded on a successful kill. Players can knife enemies for extra ammo or simply attempt to not miss. Infinity Ward decided to put a twist into Modern Warfare's version of One in the Chamber. Player's weapons are randomized, too, allowing for weapons outside the traditional pistols to be used within the game mode, and changing the tactics needed to succeed in the match.

The patch is reversing this decision and putting a limitation on weapon types used within the game. One in the Chamber is returning to its traditional rule of pistols only, and gaining a limitation for joining a match mid-game. These will help balance fairness within the game for both the players in the match and the players joining. Now instead of getting a randomized weapon, players will just have to hope for the best pistol in Modern Warfare.

Fans immediately noticed a major problem with allowing randomized weapons in One in the Chamber. Each weapon has different advantages to limited ammo. Players who were given a fully automatic weapon were at a disadvantage to snipers, shotguns, or pistols that operate more effectively with only one shot. With the new and powerful weapons in Season 4, allowing assault rifles and SMGs into One in the Chamber was a questionable decision.

With the change in place, players are generally excited to jump into One in the Chamber. This game mode has long been considered one of the best mini-games within the Call of Duty franchise with Gun Game maybe coming in second. Fans love the challenge and strategy of one bullet alongside the intense engagements found within the mode.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
