Raven Software lead designer Amos Hodge takes to Twitter to reveal details on the multiplayer mode for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

There are some Call of Duty fans excited to play Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in November, but there may more fans that are more excited to get their hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Set to launch alongside the $80 version of Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is looking to revive the classic FPS for new-gen consoles, and developer Raven Software has recently elaborated on exactly what fans can expect from its multiplayer component.

We already knew that Modern Warfare Remastered will launch with 10 multiplayer maps, with the other six being added in December as part of a free content update. So, Raven Software lead designer Amos Hodge decided to touch on some of the finer details in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, like the fact that the multiplayer announcer from the original game will return to announce all game modes.

Something else returning from the original Call of Duty 4 multiplayer experience is 'strafe jumping', which was a tactic in the original Modern Warfare that was phased out in subsequent games. In the interest of being as true to the original as possible, Raven Software is bringing it back. Players will be able to utilize the strafe jumping tactic in familiar playlists and game modes, as all of them are returning for the remastered experience.

As we noted in our Modern Warfare Remastered multiplayer preview, veterans of Call of Duty 4 should feel right at home when playing Modern Warfare Remastered, and that is apparent with all of the content returning for the new game. Now, having said that, Modern Warfare Remastered is not just a copy-and-paste job. Besides improving the graphics and performance of the game, Raven Software is also making some other tweaks in an attempt to make Modern Warfare Remastered a generally better experience than the original.

Based on feedback from fans that had hands-on time with Modern Warfare Remastered at this year's Call of Duty XP event, Raven Software is updating the gun sounds in the game so that they sound more like they did in the original, but will still be a slight difference compared to what fans remember. Raven Software is also going to be adding brand new playlists and other game modes, though haven't elaborated on what those new game modes may entail.

Overall, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is shaping up to be true to the original, yet something that offers enough value to make it worth it for longtime fans to return. Whether or not it justifies purchasing Infinite Warfare's Legacy Edition is up for debate, but hardcore fans of the original may want to seriously consider taking the plunge if Raven Software delivers on its promises.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be available on November 4, 2016 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
