The changed design of Frank Woods in Modern Warfare.

This is the age of reboots. Almost all the major classic gaming franchises like Resident Evil and Crash Bandicoot are getting remastered or rebooted. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is no exception. The most crucial element of a remaster is that it should remain true to the original and does not lose its essence.

Unfortunately, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fell short in that department. It tweaked the facial features of Frank Woods, introduced as an operator. His beard was lightened and his jaw got more chubby.

9 Pay To Play

Meme about in-game purchases in COD

Fortnite was the first game that mainstreamed the in-game purchases. Players could buy skins, emotes, and special items that other games would frown upon. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, back in the day, promoted players to grind, and then they were granted a special item.

But now, the game has become more "corporate". It promotes players to throw money at new skins, guns, and items to flex in front of their friends. This approach may be profitable but does not do justice to hardcore players of the game.

The developers let their imagination run a bit too wild this time. Although, fans also think it's cool. This strange outfit does at least one thing- make him stand out from the crowd. And that serves the purpose of spending on a skin.

7 Modern Problems Require Modern Warfare

Playing COD during quarantine is good for health.

The months of March and February were the most difficult in 2020. People had to adapt to living in their homes all day long, without interacting with anyone from the outside. Eventually, all sources of entertainment ran out and it started affecting the sanity of people.

6 Maxing Out One Ability

Infinity Ward not giving any updates to SpecOps

SpecOps and Multiplayer are two modes in Modern Warfare. The Spec Ops are small missions that can be completed solo or with a team. While the multiplayer picked up some momentum but it went downhill after the release of 3e.

Infinity Ward also shifted focus to Warzone to establish it as a Fortnite and PUBG competitor. They have been somewhat successful but the cost was huge.

4 COD Is Depressing

Playing COD is depressing.

The excitement of buying a new game and thinking about it all day long. Then going home and finally firing up the console to play it. Every gamer can relate to this. Games, especially Call of Duty, are very addictive. And when players start to suck at one thing for hours- it starts to take a toll on their health.

All that glamour turns into despair. Since mastering it takes time and practice. The process leaves the poor gamers exhausted and depressed. But nothing can match the feeling of accomplishment after something in the game.

3 Gamers Heaven

As much as players want to play the game, they can't. There are many reasons but the main ones are having a job and not getting enough time to spend gaming. Eventually, friends grow out of it and life goes on. But there are rare moments in months when the stars align perfectly.

Playing Call of Duty with the squad, eating pizza, and having two free days ahead. Nothing can be more gratifying than this.

2 Traitors, Everywhere!

Traitors from call of duty and different games.

Friends are an important part of one's life. They support in the lows, listen to problems and one can get vulnerable in front of them. However, some friends have ulterior motives and they put on a facade and wait for the right moment to strike.

General Shepherd was one of them. He was in league with Makarov the whole time and planned on starting a war. He took his companion's life for the sake of his dream.

1 Give Me A Name!

Meme about captain Price torturing a guy to give him a name.

With a long mustache, manly voice, and a get things done attitude, Captain Price made his debut in Modern Warfare  and since then has become a huge part of the franchise. To this day, he has the same demeanor and power. Captain Price is a practical man, who is not afraid to get his hands dirty.

So, if someone forgets to type their name in a Call of Duty game, they should imagine him asking for it. Surely, the players would come around and happily oblige to his demand.
